That must be some light wood. My 2500 chevy would be doing a wheelie if I was hauling that much green Oak.

I like Silver maple when it's free and easy to get. It's good for starting fires and those 50 degree weekends when you just want to have a fire.

I have the fs250r loop handle. I bought it for clearing brush a few years ago and it works really good with a blade. I now just use it as a grass trimmer for my little 1/4 ac. lot. It's way overkill for that, but it sounds so much cooler than all of my neighbors Home Depot trimmers.:)

I was in the same situation about 5 years ago and bought a Stihl ms260. The ms260 is a great saw. Last year I added a ms440 for the bigger stuff. Whatever you buy you'll probally want something bigger in the future. For me the 260 and 440 are the only 2 saws I'll ever need.

Great Firewood. Black Locust splits pretty easy green. A little tougher then oak, but nowhere near as tough as elm.

Not a job for a half ton Chevy for sure.

Are you sure that first picture is Red Oak? The rings look too far apart and the bark looks too course.
