Homelite Super EZ Auto Flywheel Question

OK, if you think one fin won't make any difference I may just leave it alone. I just didn't want to damage the saw if it would put it out of balance with the missing fin.

Homelite Super EZ Auto Flywheel Question

Hi, I goofed up and broke a fin off my Homelite Super EZ Auto (UT 10580A) flywheel. I see there are several of them relatively cheap on eBay. My question is this: the Homelite parts website lists two brands/part numbers for the flywheel, Phelon(65288A) and Wico(68701). My flywheel is marked...

    Echo cs-310 max rpm?

Now that we've run several tanks of gas through my dad's Echo cs-310 we're going to re-tune the carb. Also, we'll be trying out my new digital tach. Does anybody know the maximum no load rpm's for this saw? I can't find it on the Echo website, or by google search. Thanks in advance.

Looking for Homelite Super EZ Auto rings

I tried my local dealer, but he said they are no longer available. I think there are a few people on here who sell Homelite parts, but I'm not really sure who they are.

    Husqvarna 435 or Dolmar PS420

One other question. Is the oiler on the Husky435 clutch driven like the Dolmar is? The Husqvarna website states "fixed flow", but doesn't say if it's clutch driven or not.

    Husqvarna 435 or Dolmar PS420

Hi, I'm looking at the two saws mentioned above. They're close in displacement (Husky - 40.9cc vs Dolmar - 42 cc). The Dolmar has .7 more horsepower, but is over a pound heavier (not that either will be heavy compared to my old Homelite I'm using now). I gather from some reading here that...

Homelite Super EZ Auto piston Pics

I'm currently using Homelite Exact Mix 2 cycle oil (which is a semi-synthetic oil) at 32:1 as per the owner's manual. I haven't checked the compression with a compression tester because to get my tester to thread into the cylinder, I'd have to tear the motor out of the saw (the lower rear...

Homelite Super EZ Auto piston Pics

Hi, here are a few pics of the piston form my Homelite super ez auto( model UT 10580A). The saw starts and runs well, but I think the piston is pretty scratched up. What do you think? Is this real bad, or is it ok for a saw this old? If it's really bad, are a replacement piston and cylinder...

    Small gas saw

The point I was trying to make was that if he's only going to use it a couple times to trim up some dead branches, and then it's going to sit in the garage for the remaining 360 days of the year, why spend more money than you have to for what would basically be a chainsaw shaped paperweight...

    Small gas saw

I think a little more info is needed first. are you wanting to clear this 1 acre parcel? Or, do you just want to trim up a few trees, and have a saw to clean up fallen branches? If you want to clear the lot, and do more work outside the yard (like firewood cutting), do like has been suggested...

    Magnolia Care

UPDATE: Well the tree did in face get a few flowers on it. About 12-15 near the top. And now it's filling out with leaves. I got some 6-4-5 fertilizer from a local garden center (was told it would be good to use with magnolias). I'll fertilize every 3 months as per the package, and we'll have...

    should i buy a splitter?

Audible Fart, I was bored this morning, and went on Craigslist in Baltimore for you. There are a couple splitters on there. One is a 22 ton for $450. You might want to check it out.

    should i buy a splitter?

You may be able to find one on Craigslist or your local want ads. You might be able to get a bigger unit cheaper that way.

    Need advice on safety gear.

Labonville seems to make a great product. I don't think you'd go wrong if you went with Stihl or Husky chaps either. You may want to stop by your local dealer and see what he has. Like someone else mentioned, that way you could try on a pair and make sure you'll get ones that fit right and...

    Let's talk chainsaw chaps

I've been looking at chaps also. If you go to the Labonville website http://www.labonville.com/videos/v2.htm and watch their video, it's pretty impressive. Their chaps prevented the chain from penetrating through the chaps. The "competitors" brands still had cut through. Most other chaps...
