    025 dies immediately.

Mine acted that way once, it was a deteriorated fuel line. You might have to look pretty hard to find the hole. Bad impulse line would act about the same way.

Husqvarna 390XP vs 395XP ...which one is the better saw?

This is pretty much what I was thinking as I was making my way through this thread. I think a 372 tunes out at a higher rpm than a 395. Of course rpm's are only part of the total power equation. The 395 has more total horse power. So given the exact same chain, the 372 will be faster up...

Time For A New One... Husky, Jonsered, or Stihl?

Seeing you already have a 346, I'd for sure go for the 372 if it checks out ok.

Time For A New One... Husky, Jonsered, or Stihl?

The 562 would be nice if it's your only saw, being that it's lighter for limbing, but like the Pioneerguy said, that would be an awesome deal on the 372. My 2172 is easily my favorite saw. It would save you some money, and you did say that you weren't thrilled about autotune. My boss just got...

    Pawn shop scores

The prices at my local pawn shop are crazy too, for the most part. They do make mistakes sometimes, so I still go in and browse now and then. About 3 years ago I got a 2152 Jonsered for $118. I stuck a few bucks into it, but I use it as my main limbing saw now, so I think I did pretty good.

best cart/wheelbarrow for delivering wood to customers

Although I usually use a trailer with my ATV, I have one of those heavy duty wagons from Northern Tool that works pretty good. It's one of those with the expanded steel sides with inflatable tires. Northern Tool sends me good coupons every month.

    Hand filing chain

I use the File-n-Joint. Don't get frustrated if it doesn't seem to go well at first. My first time, I took quite a bit of life out of that chain, but after a few, it works very well. Mine must not be perfectly concentric, because when I switch from one side to the other, I have to readjust...

Does outside temperature effect performance of engine?

My basic understanding is the percentage of oxygen stays the same. About 20.9%. However air density changes with temperature and/or altitude. I had an old Evenrude outboard that had little levers (or knobs) on the carb adjustments, with a flip down door for easy access. Not likely to every...

    Jonsered 930

Nice saw...my 920 is very torquey. They can be a challenge to find parts for, but as already stated, a little patience with ebay. Looks like you could use a set of felling spikes as well. They're nice saws for noodling, although a compression release would be nice. The 920's are almost...

    Bow bar videos

It's my understanding, maybe I'm wrong, that the long skinny bar on the in the second video is mainly meant for brushing. I think it enables you stay away from the pickers while you're cutting them. Maybe someone can chime in and verify this. I'm sure liking the newest addition to my...

    My first saw.

It's better than going too small. My first was my Jonsered 2036. Didn't comprehend how bad it was until I got a chance to handle some real saws. Now I just use it to cut vines and brush around fences and rocks.

    Jonsered 2152 professional?

The 2152 is a pro saw that is the Jonsered version of the Husqvarna 353. My understanding is it about the same as the Jonsered 2153/Husqvarna 346, but has different porting and is a lesser saw performance wise. I'm not familiar with the Stihl 260, but it should be very similar size wise. Good...

    Willow?

I ended up with between 1 and 2 cords of willow last year. It's still piled up in 8 ft lengths behind the barn. A friend who gives me wood sometimes was clearing a ditch. If I refused it I was afraid he wouldn't offer me the good stuff when that was available. A guy I work with wanted to buy...

    Log Splitter Seal question

Look your whole pump over very well before replacing the seal. There is often an underlying problem other than bypassing a lot, like bearings, the seal surface on the shaft, out of balance or drive alignment. On a lot of the equipment I've been around, the failure rate after an initial repair...

    A story you'll appreciate

Know it all's are a PITA. Mix that with trying to impress some ladies and I don't even want to be around. It seems the less they actually know, the more sure they are of themselves. Try to correct them or help with any point, and everything turns around, and somehow you end up looking like...

    Chainsaw Acquisition Disorder

I agree with 7 as kind of a sweet spot. I have 7 runners and one I'd like to get around to fixing. Probably just a carb cleaning. I think it's almost practical to have an extra saw for whatever job is at hand weather it's limbing, bucking, or big stuff, so you can always finish the job. Even...

lets c your wood hauler pictures

This is after mounting my chainsaw holders. Here's my helper Rumely, waiting to go back to the truck. I use this to drag whole trees up to my back yard.

    Big knotty rounds.

I've done Maple rounds that were just as bad. Not that it's hard for the splitter, but all the angled grain still makes a mess of it. For that section of the trunk, I find it just as fast to noodle the whole thing. When you're done you at least have wood you can actually stack straight. A...

7 tooth VS 8 tooth rim sprocket

I tried an 8 pin on my 2171 for awhile. Fine on the little stuff under 10 inches or so, but overall I didn't like it. You can stall the chain too easily, but I admit, that's just when you're really pushing it.
