I want to use a 40:1 in all my saws, currently I use stihls Motomix but that’s 50:1. I don’t use saws enough to justify the hassle to mix it myself and if I can avoid adding extra oil to Motomix I will. What companies offer 40:1 and what is the best of these? In Australia if it helps :)

At the rate you buy specialist tooling for one off rebuilds- a plastic measuring jug that has a measurement scale marked in millilitres and a calculator to do the math for you should not be out of your reach.
Do saws that sit on shelves need fuel?
I can’t disagree with you Bob because you are right, but I have to say you are the cheekiest bugger I know, but for some reason I don’t have Ill feelings towards you and I don’t know why. I need more dirt on you to give you some back!

Hey mate, you could buy a 1litre bottle and just add a bit extra oil to the premixed stuff to run it at 40:1. It’s not a hassle. You would only need to add 25ml of oil to 5 litres of 50:1 premix and it would become 40:1 mix [emoji1303]
Hey mate :) yes I could, you’re right but if I can avoid it I’d do so! Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll fall back on this if nothing else is available in my area :)

Good advice I did this a couple times with the husky premix and husky oil.
But around here trufuel is widely available at 40:1, much more on shelves than their 50:1 variant.
