It was a good natured jab at you saying expensive isn't always the best.. yep, but neither is "cheap"::)

:agree2: Oh I don't mind, it's all in fun. Your right cheap isn't everything you just have to find that line that fits ones needs.

Only china parts on a dolmar are the stihl / Zama carburetors.

Buy the stihl ebay it then buy the Dolmar and pocket the difference.

Opening up my silo launcher, pointing toward 166's place,LOLOLOL

I bet ya more than that came from Asia. AND, Im not saying Dolmar is the only manufacturer that has lots of Asian parts.

Zama carbs suck. None of my Stihls have zama. walbro or Tillys. Im too cheap to spring for a bing. Hey, that **** rhymes!

Good Post. I made a custom set of 066 style dawgs for the 7900 I had.

Thats funny you say that I had mine off the other day looking at putting a set of large dog Bailey spikes off of a 460 on mine, I'd have to do a little fabbing but It could be done.:)

Just because it costs more doesn't make it better:greenchainsaw:

I think more times than not it does. I agree that the dolmar lineup is appealing, lots of power less money blah blah blah. Then we had 2 5100's not make it a year under daily comercial use. Now the 7900's the dealer sold, who has sinced stopped stocking their lineup has told me have been solid saws. I use a 460 daily mostly with a 32' bar and outside of constantly cleaning filters it is a great saw and I also ran the 7900 during demo days and it was a stong saw but the leap between the two is not as dramatic as some make it out to be. Suggestion, if you have a stihl dealer nearby and have good luck in the past dolmar souldn't even be a cosideration.

Stihl did go through with the Zama deal didn't they? http://www.zamacarb.com/pdfs/ZamaStihl.pdf

I did forget about the PS-221TH (not sold in North America) thats made in the makita/china plant. But the carbs on some models are about it.

Awwwwwwwwwwwww well now. I think Stihl will be raising prices on those Zama's by ohhhhhhhhhh 200.00 real soon, for non-Stihl saws only,LOLOL

Hey where is your brother at 166. He would get a kick out of this thread!!

If zama/stihl raises their prices them maybe dolmar will use somebody else.:)

He's been installing snowplows & plowing snow.

weak.
the focus has gotten away from the saws. then just when it starts to come back..........
:givebeer:
Its as relevant as your hypothetical why not ask if Dolmar sold as many 7900s as Stihl does 460s and Stihl sold only as many 460s as Dolmar does 7900s and what if Dolamar had Stihls product support and Stihl had Dolmars......... If ya want a 7900 Go get one its all good I bought and old out dated heavy 056 super cause I wanted one and after holidays want to track down an 076 cause I want one. Lotta info about 076's so prolly wont need a thread to make this "Crucial" decision for a saw that may cut 20 hours a year.T heres tons of 7900 info as well go get one. Ive ran solos huskies Stihls and other saws. Buy what you want and like but at 100 hrs of sawing for a hobby saw wow lotta drama. I would never ding some one for buying any saw wether a 180 to a 3120 Just start a thread got the new 7900 and everybody will be repin ya with new saw rep and and congarts for new saw regardless of their preferred brand.
