I'm going to use it (canola) next time I'm making chips for my smoker.Cut up some apple wood a while back and hated to leave the chips on the ground.

I'm a beekeeper and I'd like to use the chips in my smoker. I'm using a canola/bar oil blend now but I'll switch for a brief time to straight canola to get a few good piles of clean chips.

re-read and click linkies in post # 42 ;)

I read it and re-read it. Good post tdi-rick. Like I posted, I aggree and am testing the use of canola as bar oil. I'm simply presenting the possibility for those that think it's only good for cutting meat and those unfortunates that mistakenly think posts about "cutting up" people is funny.

Will be throwing some canola oil tomorrow cutting up some apple for a pig roast over the weekend.

A friend gave me chips from the chainsaw before but never liked the slight petroleum taste.

I have been making apple splinters with the splitter. Making cookies and saving the chips will give me a good one two punch with a lot less effort.
