Yup, I'm like a kid in a candy store. I haven't bought a new Stihl for myself since buying my 039 new 10-12 years ago. I've bought a couple new Huskys since then, but I'm a Stihlhead at heart. I posted a thread last week that I was looking for one. Another AS member told me where a dealer was that had one. I called the dealer and gave them my CC info. The AS member then picked it up, and shipped it to me. I'll not name his username here, so as to not have him inundated with requests. But I've told him how much I appreciate his help.

Enough jibber jabber here it is. The seal on the box had never been broken. I cut it before taking the first pic.

Before even fueling it up, I made some changes to the saw. I installed the new style wide shouldered bar studs, added large dual spikes, roller chain catcher, and wide clutch cover. I then installed the USA 3/4 wrap handle I had on my old saw. I topped it off with a 28" Oregon Reduced Weight bar and Stihl 33RSC chain.

That looks sweet. Looks tough with the 3/4 wrap and the 28'' will it pull it well in hardwood? Are you running the wider clutch covers from baileys?

Look's nice. I want one of those handles for mine. Madsens was out of stock when I called. I hope they get a shipment in soon. I'm out of town working so mine is still setting without ever being fueled up.

When I picked up the parts this afternoon to do the West Coast conversion, I traded in the 25" bar that came with it, and they gave me $59 credit. So that means I really got the saw PHO for $640 + tax!

If the saw came from another state and they took your CC over the phone, you don't pay taxes and the seller owes you a tax refund. Instate is another story. Just a heads up. BTW, great saw and yeah, I'm jealous...

They might have some now. I was impatiently waiting on the backorder list but got a phone call that they finally got some in and mine was being shipped.

I'm super jealous of the NIB 440. Sure would be nice to have one like that!

I talked to them on Monday evening or Saturday and they said they were out. I'm on the list too. Maybe they didn't get a big enough shipment.
