This is going way too far. My question of why it is deemed a hassle was answered. They can ship from home. That being the case it would be a hassle to go to the PO. It would make things easier for me if I had the same option here.

Geeze man, is it that time of the month for you? Or you just can't take a joke? Or is this stuff just hitting home too hard? Seriously man maybe you should just not read this stuff if you get offended so easily.

I don't see you #####ing at the person that brought up the union thing first? Why you have a problem when I say it?

Gee look above?? What gives man? Why did you just single me out? You're obviously just trying to pick a fight with me. So WTF is your problem?

Will the guy above was laughing and making a joke. I can laugh along with a joke, no problem.

Now you ask me if its my time of the month, more insults from you it seems.

Seriously I'm not trying to single you out or pick a fight with you. Just pointing out how myself and others could be offended by your wide sweeping remarks.

If you don't like me pointing that out to you maybe you should not be reading this stuff if your the one that don't like it as well.

In the mean time I hope this thread opened some eye for the majority, some peoples true colors came out and maybe some can understands some others situtaions.

As for me, I'm done with this BS thread, and I gotta go open up the box my new saw just arrived in. It came from Europe and in less time then it took me to get the one last week from Canada. :hmm3grin2orange:

This thread gave me much more insight into the shipping problems faced by sellers from the US. For me it does not matter much if sellers from the US do not choose to ship to me, I have made enough inroads over the years to keep me supplied, if a part or saw comes up and the seller does not want to ship to me after I make contact and explain methods and fees then that is their perogative and I just move on. I have standing offers from members on here to reship items for me, they know who they are and I certainly appreciate this service if ever it is required. I never intended to insult or poke fun at any of out US members and only stated what some of the sellers I have approached about shipping to me.
I learned that the USPS will pickup parcels from the homes of sellers if they are to be shipped within the US, we don`t have that service here. Therefore they need to make special trips to the Post Office to send things Priority ail International, not convienient for part time sellers. Also that most items can be sent within the US by UPS or other carriers without the extra charges we have to pay for using their services. I will now appreciate those that do ship to me even more, thanks to all that responded.

Well i guess i'm late into this one but,,,,,,,,,,
when i sell i have it set up to print the postage and label rite here sitting in my chair..it saves me money on postage, delivery confirmation is free also..
walk down and put it in my mailbox..
on a big box i have to drive to the PO and set it on the counter and walk away..no filling out forms,no waiting in line for a long time because the idgits ahead of me are not prepared..no hassles..
to go through what is required to make an extra five dollars to ship to canada and the about two hours extra time and hassle aint worth it to me..
i recently sold a flex light to a member in au...took me the same two hours to make two dollars..
it's not the fault of the buyers but OUR postal system !!
i just find it hard to work for ONE dollar an hour !
especially when it is SO easy to ship in country..

Your right, but I feel as if I was singled out, and it pisses me off. I apologized the first time, that wasn't good enough then, and then I make a comment similar to what someone else made, and the finger gets stuck in my face again. But whatever your right, needs to be just let go.

I don't mind shipping to the great white north if I know about it. I hate to sell something on Ebay and get notified that the winner is not from the states. This do to the fact that I usually box up the item in a flat rate box as soon as I list the item on Ebay and you can not use a US flat rate box for international shipping, so I have to re package the item in a international package. Most Canucks aren't smart enough to email me first to see if I will ship to them.:hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange: Just joking. I have a lot of Canadian friends I drink beer with that are smarter than me when we get together for my annual bear hunt up there in Gods country. I still can't figure out what the big deal is about hockey. I have been threaten to be used as bear bait for simply wanting to watch a college basketball game by a bunch of angry Canucks while a hockey game was on at the local watering hole. I have learned that it is very hard to bear hunt with a hockey stick hanging out of your rear end, so I have become quite the hockey fan while in Canada:hmm3grin2orange:

But no ammo!!!

Another thing is the Canadian customs wants to hold things up for sometime.

Actually Ive seen it work both ways, Mark. I have shipped things to the states & had them sit in US customs for weeks!

Honestly though, there' never any rhyme or reason imho.
This summer I sent one saw to ontario & one to florida within a day of each other. The one going south got there in 6 business days. The one going east took 3 weeks. Go figure.

As for the slow shipping concern with Ebay - ive just always made a point of being clear that while I may take 1 or 2 days to ship it, after I drop it off at the post office I dont have control over time. Ive never had someone give me a negative because of this - they can see the date it was shipped on. Not saying some idiot wouldnt, but I think it would be an easily reversible negative by ebay.

ahhhhh, it's times like these that makes me happy i have family in newyork:hmm3grin2orange:
never a problem:laugh: just call daddy and ask him to grab it and send it my way.:chainsawguy:

I don't mind shipping to Canada but it kind of chaps my hide when I find out about the taxes needing to be paid by the Canadians but seems there's none shipping to the US.

Free trade agreement? My azz.

Seems I have not been able to sell some things because of that tax.

Another thing is the Canadian customs wants to hold things up for sometime.

Jerry, how long did it take for you to get that saw that I sent you that time?

I'm thinking it was over 3 weeks. Thats the reason right there that when I sell something on Ebay I usually won't ship to Canada. I don't need a negative for slow shipping when I cannot control it.

On the other hand I just recieved a saw Friday from BC Canada and I think it was a week to get it. Why a week here from BC but over 3 weeks to NS Canada?

Canada Customs aren't playing the game fair. Saws are duty exempt as are many other things. If you don't have the harmonized code they will charge you for being your custom broker as well on items that are exempt.
To keep from getting riped off simply put "Repair and Return" on the declaration slip.
Canada Customs hauls in Millions annually taxing things that are exempt.
You can get a refund though if you come up with the harmonized code. I use to know it off by heart.

You think Canada customs don't play fair. Try walking into a bar full of Canucks and tell the place you would like to change channel from a boring old hockey game to a much more interesting college basketball game that's being played in the states. I never realized a puny hockey stick could hurt so much.:hmm3grin2orange: How's your noggin doing John?, I hope better and that your back out in the bush soon.
