PP330 broke, get an ms290?

i probably have cut more wood than you, before i was 20, and i have never said my saws were faster, bigger ect, than anyones, I replied to this thread that he should buy the new 290, and he would like it. poulans are not even comparable to stihls, they are cheap flimsy junk. a (big boy)saw is anything other than a poulan. and if your gonna post a vid of you cutting saying your saw is something special its gonna take a lot more to impress me, than what ive seen.

No you made the statement that they are toys and have you ever run a big saw. You also said someone useing a poulan in public would be laughed at. Now you claim you have cut more wood than we have by the time you were 20. You are making some big statements for your information I do not a call a 5200 a toy have you ever run a 505 I must get laughed at becouse I use mine in public. I started using a saw when I was 15 and have not stopped fire wood cord wood logs and now emergency service and storm damage not saying I have cut more then you or anyone else. There is alot of guys here that have more experiance than I and they are good guys. They are helping some one fix there saw. A word of advice God gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason we are to listen twice as much as we talk

I done figger'd out the TRICK to how to start my kickass husky whuppin' big boy 066 without messin' up the untarnished carb. I jes gotta keep the gas cap loose so's I don't lose my venting and not hold the saw vertical. That'll keep me from thrusting fuel down the cylinder! I showed those guys. Pull-on's are a JOKE. Stihl RULEZ!!

I need to adjust the carb (idle) and fix that oil leak, but I'm back in business.

just as a reminder what was wrong in the beginning was that a vent plug was missing. I don't know if I lost it somehow or it was missing from the factory. But the saw worked fine other than smelling like gas al the time.

Not so long ago they made some saws that were better than $ would indicate. The older Poulans you are "Bashing" are in the latter group. I will tell you this the old Poulans ARE better constructed than the homeowner Stihls. But hey what do I know people paid real money for a "Pet rock".

Around here guys help each other out with saws. Meet some real good guys. We enjoy showing off our newly found saws, the rebuild, the finished product and the saw at work. If you are here to pi$$ people off and make yourself look stupid..well you've succeeded. If your not going to contribute anything worth while please go away. Its not a Stihl vs. Poulan thing. Its a quality vs. inferiority thing. All of us here know Stihl makes some great saws. BUT we know they make some CHEAP saws that big egoed, mis-informed, "saw experts" fawn over for no reason other than a badge on the recoil. Guess what, the 290 is a 56cc wild thing. The 330 is a much better built and performing saw. Theres a reason why they stopped production too, since Poulan and Husky are now owned by the same parent company Elux did NOT want a $200 Poulan that could run with the $500 Huskies. Schools out.
