If you guys could list all of your comparisions(complaints) Stihl vs. Husqvarna. I have a paper (4 pages) to write that I have to generate an opinion on. Just don't know everything about the two saws.

get a 372 then a 440 run them in hardwood with 24"-28" bars....that should form an opinion. but you should get a 7900 into that comparison two...for the conclusion page of course:hmm3grin2orange:

The sexy looking longest running saws win! And the bolts dont fall out:hmm3grin2orange: I'm feelin the:angry2:

So...you want us to do all your research for you? All you're going to do here is start another argumentative thread.

There are thousands of posts comparing different saws to each other, use the Search function to find them. They won't be hard to find.

Let us know what you come up with and maybe we can fine tune the information for you. But you need to put in your own work on this.

ok

Stihl is to Husqvarna as John Deere is to Kubota. Get on a Kubota and operate things... Its fine. Get right on a John Deere and you suddenly realize how crappy and tinny the Kubota was. Same thing.

Y r u going to write a comparison paper of two saw brands that has to do with YOUR opinion?

When u have NO opinion on the subject matter!

I suggest u write it on technology vs. old school (blood, sweat, gears)

Just sayin!

This is the chainsaw forum right? I love my Stihls,IH tractors andChevy trucks. I'm fine with that and you can like whatever you like and I'm fine with that also. If we all liked the same thing there wouldn't be any tractor/truck pulls,Nascar or chainsaw forums.

I do have an opinion9stihl all the way), just need more to add to it. According to my teacher we need to find opinions(of others) and facts(which I have the power to weight stuff from their sites), leaving out ours(generating one) and write it. I could have my mind switch but prolly not.

Two points you could spend a few words on are the outboard clutch vs inboard clutch. If my terminology is correct. I have done a little work on both saws. Most Stihl saws have an inboard clutch, which is quicker to change the sprocket on. Outboard clutch as found on the Husky changes the balance of the saw, for the better in my opinion, particularly when limbing with the smaller saws, but it takes a little longer to change the sprocket. The advantage goes to the Stihl if and when you have a pinched bar and need to remove the power head. Though I try to avoid getting into that situation no matter what saw I run. But I can see where the Husky might be a pain in that situation or maybe not possible. I am sure the pro's have more to contribute than my little jot here, but you asked.

I'm not a Deere fan or a Kubota fan but I can tell ya the Kubotas are not tinny and there engines run forever. Deere think they have the best and dont fess up to there problems. I like a company that stands behind there product. John deere has done good at staying John Deere

Like the John Deere, IH and Kubota...The corn still grows and it doesn't know the color of the tractor. If all saws cut and fit my hand very well...Its good enough for me! :)

Look at the anti vibration..... And saws reported as smooth, like say 576at against equivalent Stihl, and the specs of both.

And grip design and angles for the handles too

Maybe you could mention a good dealer is important for parts availability etc. That dosent ad much to the brand "argument" i know but it is important to some people and helps deciding which brand to buy.
