AH yeah. Reminds me of the good ole days back in Texas. Here's me with one of my toys back when. Hmm, suddenly I am missing Shiner Bock.

OMG. fresh fuel and a fuel line and she runs. Not bad for just over a hundred bucks.

Was that the one for $200 near Mansfield? Lucky....

What about the $550 MS461? Guess it was an estate deal, guy just bought the thing too. I know the guy who bought it, I am guessing he snagged it when it was posted.

I called on that one too.. Day late (hr actually) and a dollar short. That 461 was a Deal!!

I heard its a good running saw too. I bought a 201T a while back from the guy who bought the 461. I haven't really been grabbing much off of CL lately.

Just did a trigger job on the Ruger. I haven't yet received the Wolff reduced power trigger spring. I was still able to drop 12 oz by setting the hook height and polishing the hammer and sear. Trigger pull is now 4# even. If I drop one side of the trigger spring, it drops to 2# 6 oz, too light for my liking on this gun. I'd like to end up at about 3 1/2#. Most importantly, the trigger break now feels like a glass rod. I do love me a nice trigger:rock:

I know it's not a chainsaw, but it's a close relative...View attachment 313546

I passed on a couple chainsaws at the swap meets today because nothing caught my interest. I came close to buying a MuCulloch-made Montgomery Ward saw, but some of the plastic was broken. It was a 16" model (if memory serves), and was a rebrand of one of the compact top handle versions like the 130, or one of its close relatives.

Here's an Echo ES-1000 leaf blower I bought today. I have the nozzle, it's just not in the pic. The seller claimed "yeah, it runs great. It's just out of gas." I thought "yeah right." It felt like it had compression, and it seemed like it would only need the normal repairs (new plug, fuel lines and maybe a carb kit), so I said OK. After some polite haggling I picked it up for $25.

I've been looking for a quality leaf blower, and in my area they're hard to find on Craigslist or the local swap meets. There are some low-end blowers, but it's rare to find any decent name brand units at a fair price. Today I found a Tanaka for $40, but it was one of the newer made-in-China models and was pretty rough. There were two identical Echos from two different sellers and I settled on this one.

So far I've gassed it up and got it to run, but poorly. I'm now replacing the plug and fuel lines. I'll do a little tuning and see if I need to rebuild the carb. I already found the manuals on the Echo website and found rebuild kits on ebay.
