562XP 50:1 oil ratio

With 1:33 our saws (Stihl MS362 & MS192, Jonsered CS2150 & CS2152) smokes terribly bad. The smoke is less disturbing at 1:40. Ideally we therefore run Aspen alkylat with premix 1:50. Our health and wealth is prio.

I run Mobil 1 full synthetic at roughly 35.7142857142 -1. sometimes it's around 38.4615384615 -1
None of my saws smoke at all, ported or not, though they have all got muffler mods

What is always really funny in these threads is the perspective of reality. Here we have a bunch of hobby sawers discussing about how to optimaly prolong the life of their equipment with the paranoia of not having enough oil in their engine and on the other hand, at least in german speaking Europe=Austria, Germany and Switzerland, professional loggers have been using exclusivly premix for years, without any premature breakdowns! They run their saws for hundreds of hours a year (which equates for most hobby loggers as a life time of sawing). Yet interestingly they don't have any problems at all! And this gets even more mysterious when you consider that recent tests done by the kwf have schon that most premix only has 1,7% (~1:60!!!) oil content!
So what does that tell us? Obviously people who read threads here cannot distiguish between topics! They obviously donot understand what they are reading!
Why do I say that? Simply because since years the modders on this site have said "their moddified saws should be run at 1:32!", but this is a special situation, because moddfied saws have nothing to do anymore with store bought saws! They have been reengineerd for optimum performance.
So continue to believe what you want, it won't change reality.

Oil also cleans as it cycles through the engine. 32:1 is best overall.

Tear apart a saw after milling when you burn a whole tank in a single cut at 50:1 and then 32:1 and see which you'll continue to run. I'm afraid of longevity with 50:1 with ported saws or milling.

Yes, I do.... We're probably just too stubborn.

Ran into that alot when I was studying forestry in college, sometimes you would get units in metric, some in standard (U.S) and have to convert them both ways. It's annoying....

Not if it is mandatory for the job and provided by your employer. Simply put if you want to cut in the forest it's premix or bye bye.

I like to add a little dish detergent. It helps keep thing nice and slippery. And the lemon scent adds a nice fruity aroma.

Honestly, the only reason they are built here is because of people like you, if it says "built in USA/America" you'll buy it. Stihl was smart with it and realized the American buyers market and capitalized on it... All business!

50:1, 87 octane with ethanol, if your a regular user.

Correlation is not causation, But my buddy has logged for years with 87 octane with ethanol and 40 to 1 and burnt two pistons the same day on the same mix. The saws were Husky 562 and Dolmar 7900. The fuel was very fresh. I never have used fuel with ethanol and neither will he again.
