What happened? I stopped receiving email alerts... I was actually cutting some firewood today, and I checked back to find a whole page that I hadn't seen yet!

And wheres HuskStihl? I wanted to brag to him about pulling the starter handle right off my 064...

Wow, that was a fun read.

I've been here a long time but I don't post a lot, I read a lot. I've made purchases from at least two people in this thread that went very well. One being Clint, so sorry to hear you got jacked man.

Clint,

Based off of your usual easy going manner, is it safe to assume that you got burned within the last week, or so?

I've only been "stiffed" on parts here, and it was quite a while ago. Unfortunately the person in question had been a member for some time. Fortunately he hasn't been back in over a year.

Your point is very valid, as it was a nefarious pair of new members that burned Lee Harvey on a SD 166 deal at the beginning of this year.

Wasn't me was it? I've been on sabbatical for a year or so. Too busy at the shop to spend much time on the internets. If I left you hanging on something, hit me up.

I've actually got a new Elasto-start handle and rope in a box, but I didn't feel the need for it when I got the saw back from Randy... but it's going on it now!

Now, I've gotta go polish my Sugi-Hara, it got a little dusty today!... Thanks everyone for the laughs!

I have done that on my mastermind 064 too. But it wasn't nearly as bad as last week when I left my fingers wrapped around the starter handle of my 2100. Decomp valves are a luxury with these larger saws : )

I miss Brush Ape.

Yes, I understand. By "miss" you do not mean you have a feeling of loss, or longing. I believe the "miss" you are referring to has to do with your desire to improve your "aim". As in "damn, I can't believe I "missed" that S.O.B!"

Actually, it was sarcasm. Sometimes I think you read into things a little too much!

I haven't read the whole thread, but most of this could be stopped by simply making it such that a member must have x amounts of posts before posting in the Classified section. Many forums are setup that way.

That wouldn't have helped in the case of one Matt Dominish.
I think a one strike policy, is the only way to go. Screw someone over one time, with irrefutable proof against you, and BAM! You're done.

If I dont know you.... I ask around until I find someone who does before I proceed with a purchase. I have passed on many deals for this very reason. Alot of the time it boils down to "who" is selling 1st, and "what" they are selling 2nd. And I try to do repeat business with the same guys that run in my circle of friends. Ive made many friends that way. I know "friendship" and "your word" matter to these folks. And I keep this in my mind, "It takes a lifetime to build a good name, and a second to destroy it." I live by those words.
