Chucked up a "sanding drum" on the drill press and figured WTF I got nothing to lose and y'all always say to buff and reuse ....oh and most importantly the AM slug I purchased wont work as its slapping on crank on the BDC ..

also what suggestions do you have for cleaning out the ring lands ?

If you can't see machine marks on the piston I advise against using it. Although some will reuse them you've got to remember those small ridges allow oil to coat the piston and help cool it.

I've sanded cylinders and pistons before, but the issue is you increase clearance. Any idea how much you took off? Can't you grind the AM piston where it hits the crank - or did I misunderstand the problem with it?

these pistons have came down in price for us in northern il as well angelo...I know you were lookin at 362 pistons in your area a while ago and they were still high. you might double check...see if they have adjusted prices yet?

Not a clue Chris, just futzing around.
I may try to grind the bottom clearance as well on the AM slug. It's got a rounded shaped skirt so I just chucked up the drum and started turning it.
This 261 is now mine so I was just playin with it.

Mike, this is the one I was talking to you about.

Big T, no changes yet on pricing OEMs here yet.
