Thank God spring is almost here. We all need a break........

Got that right. I hate friggin wintertime. Too old for the cold anymore. I'm looking forward to maters and cukes coming out the garden. Spring seems to be here in Va, its been warm all week. Time to make some money and play hard............

Yes indeed! Wife is putting in a "small" garden this year...only 1/4 acre LOL.
By the way that muffler you sent me is great. Makes a big difference in the 361 and has kind of a newer lower snarl to it. Seems to have a bit more grunt, too.

Awww glad ya liked it Bob. It does make the 361 sound little more throaty for sure. That saw is restricted quite abit with the way they make the muffler but that extra hole seems to let it breath pruty durn good. I noticed it allows my saw to pull alittle better in the wood too. Glad ya liked it, you have one of two in the world, me having the other one, makes us kinda specail doncha know,lol..

The real issue is that the 357 has an outboard clutch, and a "busy" space under the cover......... :yoyo: :yoyo:

It usually doesn't matter for crosscutting, but for ripping with the grain, it is a huge issue.

People been cuttin' with saws with outboard clutches for years with no problems............so what!!!


Unless you are cutting with the grain and don't pull the powerhead back does it become a moot issue at best!!!

I think you're right, but that can pruty much be said about 50% of the post all together in the chainsaw threads IMO.
Once you own more than 3 chainsaws, one tends to become a no longer rational thinking person apparently, I guess

What does it mean when you own multiples of 3? This sure aint a cheap addiction.
They say the first step is ADMITTING you have a problem.........well maybe some day.

Naaaaaaaaa not so. If ya noticed we were kind enough to put that 357 at the front of the log when shooting the pics. It had the best spot on the log, sitting in a cut made by the monster 090 Stihl, what more could that saw want. See we aren't bias after all. That Husky was in fine company. The only complaint about that saw came from its own owner. He said he paid $702.25 for that saw. Thats a mights steep isn't it, I mean a 361 is way less than that but equal saw. I always heard the Stihl's were higher, not in this case.

That $702.25 is sure depressing. For that money I could turn my stihl contra into an 090 with new piston, jug and clutch. Now this isn't meant to poo-poo huskys but if I have to chose between the 357 husky and 090 (or any number of big saws you can get for that kind of money) I'll take the 090 every day and twice on sunday. In this case it's doubly sad because that 357 is his mill saw.

Thats right Lake a mill saw. Randy (the property caretaker) is an amazing carpenter and uses wood from right there on the property to make beautiful furniture and toys. He has a nice little alaskan mill setup he uses to mill boards for furniture and even mantlepieces. When ha bought that 357 I think he was fooled into thinking it was the best he could afford for his mill. He already had a husky 55 and a little shindaiwa, so he thought the 357 was enough of a step up.(He did not consult me and did not know Tommy at the time.) Unfortunate but true.
