The Husky Dealer asked Dennis why he never cleaned his air filter....

Dennis was told at the store he bought it from it has Air-Injection and your filter will never get dirty.........It has 90# compression and ate a lot of dirt.....

Dennis is a typical home owner that listened to a salesman at a local box store.......

Here is the major problem with home owner.........They just dont know that a small amount of maintenance will make a saw last a long time........

No Excuse For Proper Maintenance!!!!!!

It's just a Husky 55 Rancher....what's the big deal?

Those are just glorified Poulans anyways...throw it away and buy another.

I went down to the bi dealer store back at the first of spring
homeowners will flat ruin a good saw as they make sure they fill
the tank so they are ready for spring cleanup!

I've had friends bring me their saws cause they can't get them to start/run... Usually I just dump out the old pre-mix, clean out the fuel tank with a little fresh gas, dump that out, fuel it up a bit with my own fresh pre-mix, clean the air filter, maybe put in a new fuel filter for them, and presto... running, cutting saw.

Then they take it home, and after they burn up the fuel that I put in... they fule the saw back up with the same 2-3 year old pre-mix that caused the problems in the first place, and then the saw runs like crap, or won't start again...

Even after I tell them to not use old fuel, and mix up a fresh batch... DOH!

You can lead a horse to water...

Ive got a Husky 350 at work...brand new. This thing is 100% mint.

Customer brought it in and said it wouldnt Idle right.

So I pulled the rope and it felt like the compression release was popped in...but it wasnt.

Compression test revealed 80psi with the comp release popped out...

Pulled the muffler and found catastrpohic scoring...you really count decipher where the ring was..

I dumped a few ounces of clear gas out the tank.

I looked up at him...showed him the jar of clear gas and he was puzzled..as this is a 4 stroke saw. I explained to him that it was a 2 stroke, and he said that at lowes he bought the 4 stroke Troy Bilt trimmer and the 4 stroke Husky saw.

Lowes gave him a new one...:dizzy:

Guess common sense is not in style? I just wonder how people like that function in the rest of there life? People have stopped thinking. EVERYTHING needs some form of maintenance.

That guy should have just done what I do when my air filters get dirty, either just run em without one or exchange it for a brillo scrub pad. :jester:
