Not really wanting to pee on this Stihl/dealer bashing parade,
but the original Saw in the start of the thread sounds more like a fuel
related problem, and not a coil, which likely is not warrantable...

I don't think it's Stihl or even dealer bashing. I see this BS in almost every business I deal with. There are great service people out there, and businesses who will really fight to keep your business, but it seems a fair chunk of people just don't give a fat, flying, furry :censored: anymore.

+1 !

I would also like to see the 200$ bill and what work/parts they charged you for. I would not have paid that amount in the first place... something is fishy (sorry fish, LOL)...

Yes, if all is true on the trimmer, then I would call Stihl back, as well
as the distributor, as they have had some problems with those ignitions,
and that dealer might be "double-dipping" on those warranties, so provide
them the serial numbers. But if the guy cannot lie any better than that
to his customers, he probably isn't smart enough to cheat on the warranties.
Moreover, a guy that can't lie any better than that, doesn't "deserve"
to be a Stihl dealer!!!!!
But I digress..........

Yep,,,, Bust his chops!!!!!

Sorry to hear of your trouble. But this is why I now buy Huskys, I was tired of having money sucked out of my pocket for over priced saws and service that should be covered. It is a shame that some dealers feel they can take advantage of people. Stihl makes some great saws and Ill be buying a 361 next but dread the bull Ill put up with at the dealer. So maybe Ill look for a different dealer a little farther out from the house.

LMAO... that has nothin' to do with crappy dealers.

I'm sure Husqvarna has their fair share too...

Gary

Husqvarna dealers are getting hard to find here, most of them are in prison for killing customers that bring their warranty problems from Lowes
and Tractor Supply, the ones not in prison wanted to sell saws for a good company that takes care of their dealers, and switched brands.

I feel your pain I asked my Stihl dealer for a price on a 660 and he said what is a 660? He is useless. I would bring that thing back and complain threaten to write Stihl and see what he says. You could always try and find the next nearest dealer.

The term I think you are looking for here Fish is, "Going Husqvarnal" on a guy, similar to going "Postal", but these Husky dealers are not using guns, they use ported and muffler modded, limited edition Leatherface 395's.

Uh, thanks, FISH.

I'm a smart enough guy to know not to ask a question I don't already know the answer to. Years and years of being poor, teaches you how to troubleshoot. It was the coil, get over it.

Belgian? I aint trolling here.... However if I was, part of you'd be in the cooler and Fish would be Sushi for the ride in. .

I might have failed to mention I sent an errand person to fetch the Kombi tool, what was he going to do argue for me? Either way, Rerstrain tis something I have to work on, and I aint that successfull all the time.

It isn't going under the rug.

It IS about knowing what butter your bread- customer service is a lost art. Too many Big Box "retailers", not enough Butchers, Green Grocers, Craftsmen, and smart people.

I was wanting confirmation, carb kit?

Eff...... I knew the dealer sucked, but was convieninet for consumables, so no need to beat that horse anymore.

I really didn't NEED him to work on my saw, but was paying so I didn't have to.

I expected SOME level of integrity, and ethiics.

you will find there is a large contingent on here that are of the mindset, if you have a legit problem with a stihl and post about it, you are a troll/stihl basher.

Post 1:

I sent my MS 270 to the Stihl dealer, pretty much knowing it was a coil, and it would be under warranty. Wife picked it up.

You are married to your male errand person? :jawdrop:

Thats just gross. IMHO

Uh, since you are that smart, and not trolling for trouble, then why, in your
busy, high tech, world view, did you bother to post your juvenile rant, in a silly attempt to hurt a dealership that pissed you off????

How is it, in your, uh, mind, the ignition???????

Pay me enough, and I will slide in some integrity, and a tiny ethic, wiggle it a bit, just for you, you troublemaker.... Hey that's my job........

We try to help here, but get pissy when someone posts with a different, silly
motive, like yours....

You are a self centered jerk, that thinks he "knows" it all, and he was "letting"
someone "take care of it", as I already know what is wrong....

And if the dealer doesn't do it all for free, I will join a few hillbilly "chainsaw"
forums and smear his name.
Are you really simple minded enough to think your efforts will make any
dent on his business?

Just curious. Do you expect a dealer to bring you out a new coil on a plate,
because you have determined that it is what you need???????

If you are that brilliant, then why did this thread/story start, unless you
are just a bored teenager with nothing else going on this winter.

UUUUhhhhhh, that gave your age away......................

Sorry, I only play with children my own age..........

Then there are people like you that thrive on any thread that talks about an issue with a stihl. You seem to spend more time talking in the stihl threads than in any non stihl threads.

yes.. definitely slipping...

I was sure by now you'd have suggested that "insert brand" was behind this slew of bad mouthing "insert dealer". Maybe I'm just confusing you with PESt :greenchainsaw:
