so in this time of depressed hardwood prices in the east is anyone selling "junk" trees? a mill near me is milling pallet cants almost exclusivly. ive been selling him buckeye, wahoo (mountain magnolia), and low grade basswood and cucumber tree. hes paying $200 MBF. not great but it seems like a great time to concetrate on eliminating these low value trees from my woodlot. anybody else run into this? seems like a good way to make money when sugar maple, oak, ash, and cherry are so down. in other news we had our first baby last thurs. a girl. im learning how to log without much sleep...
