Cabling

My friend has a large white oak. It really needs to be cabled above the crotch.
Each crotch measures about 28" diameter.
What's the preferred method of doing this?

go with eye bolts and esc cable also rod work if its cracked

Depends on the fork, the load, the wood quality, the exposure, the condition of the crown, etc.
