From watching both videos I'd say they mirror my experience starting my 6100. Clunky, not "easy" but it only lasts three pulls on my saw when cold. The "high compression" feeling goes away when warm and is as close to perfection as you can get in saw starting ease. When cold, if you put it on the ground and put your foot in the handle as they reccommend it's pretty easy. It's just the "crotch jerk" method that is hard to make look like it's supposed to be done that way.
It's funny but I've yet to see a 6100 video that looks like it has the 20 inch bar that comes with the saw still on it. Everybody puts a longer bar on the saw from the looks of it. The dogs on the saw are very long so a 20" bar would cut with about 18< of bar anyway.
My video post number #49 in this thread of me cutting the face notch out of a 20" dead oak is with the OEM 20" bar. I posted it to show me starting it, warm with a crotch hold. And you are correct, it starts easy. I have convinced myself my 6100 does not have an easy start feature.
Here is another picture from yesterday when I got to bucking that same oak tree, the Dolmar name has long since been worn off the bar:
It might be a reflection of my conservative, pragmatic, some might say cheap nature, but the OEM 20" bar does a fine job on most of what I cut. I do own a 24" bar for when the wood gets just a little too big. Like this big ugly maple that toppled over in a storm :
