Lots of plastic on that saw, and not a very good power to weight ratio - but it still should be worth that much if in good shape under the crud.

Come on man, don't be hatin' on my Echos. I have another 590 I've been really happy with. I don't use a saw for a living, but I think they're a good buy for what I need them for.

Yeah that 600 p I got was in nice lookin shape , way to much flimsy-ness with the weak ass plastic, but underneath its a solid saw, and it is heavy lol, but it cuts like a beast.
Post some pics

i suspect it is a bit more than 4hp.

i had a couple other 4hp rated saws and the 590 sort of blew them out of the water!

to me the 590 runs sort of in between a 630 jonesred and a 670 jonesred.

troll thinks the 590 is either a 610 or a shindaiwa and it is new all around and nothing in common with um.

troll never ran a 590 but he is more than willing to put um down every chance he gets. i guess "troll" is the correct term.

ya know this 372XPs i got is a plastic "Ho" just as much as any echo-- and don't get me started on that 555 that never gets out of the shop!

and that 455 rancher-- what a POS it was-- and those white top ranchers back in the day--boy they sucked--LOL

but hey husky is "god on earth" --- ain't that right troll?

the OP asked for opinions from people WHO OWN a 590!!

i would put a 590 against anything husky makes dollar for dollar.

sure husky makes some saws with more power--yet for the $$ they cant touch the 590. what can you get in a husky for $400 or less that don't suck??? when was the last time you saw a less than a year old 372 for $175???? fricking never--

if you don't own one or have never owned one best to keep your internet BS to yourself.

really all it does is make the fanboy look childish.

i'm sure if husqvarna put poop in a bag and told some it was candy the fanboy/cheerleaders would eat it and smile, and go on and on on how superior real husqvarna poop tastes compared to generic poop!!

to be honest i'll never understand fan-boys of any make.

to the OP congrats! get some good mix/fuel and run the jeebers out of it!

for $175 it was a steal-- i would have bought that one myself--even if i had to sell a husky to do it!!--LOL

The 590 is the Best saw per dollar in the industry period. There's not even anything close. Face it Echo bashers. Echo has proven in recent years it is a force to be recon with in the chainsaw division.

Here's the only pics I've taken so far. Looking it over, it's just really dirty. The only things I've found so far that aren't cosmetic is the little metal chain tensioner piece is broken. There was no way the guy could have properly been tensioning his chain. That, and the bar is ever so slightly bent. I think I can straighten it. Chain tensioner looks to be about a $5 dollar part, but it'll cost me more for shipping. Will continue to look it over and clean as I go. Will also pull the muffler and check compression tomorrow.

Will post some after pictures once I get her cleaned up. My original plan was to try and flip it, but I may end up keeping it.

i say the prev owner beat the crap out of it but it is good shape.

I have 2 echo top handle saws the 340 and the 360 to. The 340 has remained stock. And my 360t need the cat out the moment i walked in the house and surgically removed the baffle. And it makes plenty of power and lots of torque. It will chew through a 13" elm no problem. The 340 i like how compact it is and its very lite. I put many miles on the old 340 and it still runs strong. Might be a carving saw soon

If therd is a cat in it remove it asap and do a lil muffler mod and retune might be looking at a hour of time for that. I good running saw with power is a easy sale.

Throw the bar, chain, clutch sprocket and bar nuts in the recycle bin and start fresh if you plan to keep it. If the air filter looks like the others mentioned do the same. This saw was owned by someone who is unsophisticated in CAD.

Nice score.

You can run a large mount husky bar on it.I have one on mine but its not oiling completely seens like.may just need the oiler holes drilled bigger.may check into that today.anyway running the husky large mount gets you out of the 70dl chains and into the more standard 72dl.
If I were you I would go ahead and fit a replaceable spur sprocket and drum on it from the cs600.

Oh yeah looks like they have replaced the bar nuts with husky ones.stihl bar nuts work too and are the same as what were on it new.
