Welp, that just happened. Finally broken down and bought the saw of my dreams. 999.00 for half wrap and 28" regular bar with half skip chain. Took some Glamour photos after I got home. I know everyone has these and seen them but I thought I would share.... Thanks for all of the help Gents. Can't wait for this saw to claim it's first felling victim.

They sure do look nice when new. $999 with a 28" B&C is a nice price.
+1

I've not seen one that cheap around here.

Congrats OP!!! I love mine. I'm at about 10 tanks now and she keeps getting stronger. I sold my Stihl bar and put a 28" Tsumura light weight on it, balances quite a bit better that way. Gorgeous saws. Now....go get her dirty!

I do believe that. My 461 is now 4 years old, and it seems stronger all the time. Better chain sharpening, and going back and forth with my 290 adds to the over all positive impressions of the mighty 461.

Holly hell this place makes me laugh I burst out laughing reading the title of this thread. You SIR are funny and I mean it!

btw that is a sharp looking saw! No pun intended there.
Stihl really makes a nice product

Haha thanks fellas.

Yeah, I'm not sure how much I like the balance with the heavy Stihl bar. Would people buy it on here? How much is it worth?
Mine was slightly used.

Sold it on craigslist for $80. Not sure if that's good/bad/otherwise. I was happy with that price and the buyer didn't haggle about it.

Mine was slightly used though...had maybe 3 tanks on it or so.

Was that a 28", so bar and chain for 80, sounds like a fair deal for both parties to me.

I think I am gonna run a 25 inch bar on it usually.

For my long bar, should I run a 28 or 32?
I don't think there's enough difference between a 24 and a 28 personally. I would get a 24 and a 32 if you want the 24 for sure.

I rarely use my 32...but on those real big burr oaks we get around here...it's sure nice. 32 is a bit much for a 462 especially in hard woods...but for occasional use, I have no problem with it.

In order of frequency: oak <24 inches, lodgepole pine <20 inches, pine <32 inches, cedar < 28 inches...
