She's no beauty just an old work horse. Maybe take some pics tomorrow for fun.

Interested in seeing how she looks, so far the counts 3 new 365 specials with toasted engines to the same 266 with way more hours on it, I'm old saw over new after that, and its in a work saw environment, 5 or more days a week with heavy use

Tomorrow my friend

Not to sidetrack but I know dolmar makes the larger solos but what about like the 656. I made the mistake of buying one for my first saw. Just cheap garbage.

I can't say on that I've just read a lot of good things about the new dolmars and they say that 7900 will put it on a 372 and are close in weight if I run up on a deal on one I'm going to try it.

I've never cut with or 262 or even held one. But how does the 261 compare? The one I have leaves me content running my 61.

What's wrong with your 562 mine will run right with a 576xp autotune up 20" in hard wood
Nothing is wrong with it lol I like it it's just not all its hyped up to be my 359 is a strong saw so is my 562 but there's no night and day I would ask what's wrong with that 576 cause my 372 or 385 will make every 60cc saw I've ran across look like little girl's. Have you ever ran a strong 359? I build and port my saws but my 359 just has a mm it's not ported come to think of it but it will be when it's time to rebuild it.
I now have a 555 and my brother has a fairly new 562 and they definetly cut faster than my 359. 359 had base gasket removed, cylinder surface cleaned up to match case dimension and muffler mod and the 555 and 562 still noticably cut better in stock form even. I had a 359 with a 357 p/c and the newer saws were still faster and had less vibes and handled better in my opinion. So, I dont know, maybe there was something wrong my 359's, but they just couldnt keep up.

The 261 is a seriously "detuned" 262xp. Power rating is 2.9 kW/3.9 hp vs. 3.5 kW/4.8 hp.

It is relatively easy to convert a 261 to a 262, as only the muffler, piston and cluch are different (the clutch usually doesn't need to be changed). The piston is "dished" on the 261 (to lower compression), and the muffler much more resticted.

Ok thanks

Hard to find a 266 here, never mind original piston and ring still in it with that compression, around here you'd get good money for something like that
