We're expecting up to 1/4" of ice tonight! Could be fun lol.
so this is the only CM saw that advancing works on?!Did you advance the ignition? That's an absolute must on these. It gives them a real attitude, a very noticeable difference.
No. There are more that it works on than it doesn't. Two that I don't do it on is the 241 and the 441.so this is the only CM saw that advancing works on?!
Ok here is saw #2. I'm gonna haft to order a tach as I know this one is turning more rpm as its faster in the cut however how much I have no idea as neither of my tachs will read this saw.

Well gonna muffler mod this one some more first and get some good testing in. I only opened the factory port to 60% on this saw. But yes I'm gonna tear saw 1 back down and do 118 across and put the intake at 81 to see where it lands.Dude......
#2 is sick running.
You gonna raise the transfers more on number 3???
Thank youThat baby's really walking through that Oak. Getting more fuel to that saw through the intake and transfers made a real difference. You'll be surprised what some more muffler work will do for it too. Nice work!
Well good question. I didn't test to see as its mtronic and O ly made 4 cuts with it total. So the mtronic may not of been fully adjusted yet. I want to know rpm as well. Gonna haft to get me a new tach.Looks good from here. Be interested to know what it is holding in the cut. (Did it 4 stroke any when you let off of it in the log -- not on camera? Just curious).
I didn't measure it but I can if you like when I tear down #1 again. What's the pin to crown height on the piston
Sure. Got a hair brained idea but I need the height and stuff to see if it could work.I didn't measure it but I can if you like when I tear down #1 again.

Big saw big wood. Hopefully tomorrow I can strap up a worthy bar. I switched these to 8 rim sprocket so we'll see how 8 rim 36" works.I like the size of your test log for saw #2. That log should let you know how strong your saw is.
Yep. That's the thoughts. Not many pistons in that size though.Well you'll have to share your hair brain idea. I'm hoping it has to do with a piston with the same crown height or taller and longer skirts.
IIRC, there is very little clearance at bottom dead center between the case and pistonI'm hoping it has to do with a piston with the same crown height or taller and longer skirts.
