I mix stihl fuel 40:1 does anyone know if this will create a problem? I did this to try and to protect the saw.
Nope just cut lots of wood it will adjust. Buried in long cuts seem to work well for resetting the AT.Just bought an MS 661. A friend recommended 40/1, saying 50/1 is for emission standards. Will 40/1 mess with the auto tune?

You could void your warranty though.Just bought an MS 661. A friend recommended 40/1, saying 50/1 is for emission standards. Will 40/1 mess with the auto tune?
Get it writing if it's different from the warranty details.Local dealer here wants me to run my new 395 at 33:1 when milling. He will get no argument from me.
We run husky 3120XP saws in the commercial operation, we have a friend who tests engines for racing cars ( Single seat open wheel & sports Le Mans type cars) he tested one of the saws on their Dyno, for a uni project in standard run in form it produced 8. 36 HP with the factory recommended oil fuel mix increasing the oil content 40, 32, 25,& eventually down to 18/1 produced an extra 1/2 HP + an extra 550 revs but ended up with a tendantsy to foul the plug unless it was not allowed to idle, in the field we use 32/1 & have done for a number of years with no adverse effects This is just our findings but all the noted 2 Smoke "Tuners" seem to agree to the fact that the more oil within reason you pour in the harder/more powerful it will runWarranty...come on, what does a saw cost?! If there is a benefit to more oil than 50:1 provides, then shouldn't you be running it from day 1? And if there isn't...
40:1 is fine. 32:1 is fine. 50:1 is probably fine, too, under optimal conditions.
