He has two now!

Hey I just ordered a Stihl one (60" long) from my dealer, its $110, but it looks like the point is very long and sharp and angled just right. Its on their web site under hand tools.

Dean,

You didn't say whether you got a peavy or cant hook. After thinking about the type of wood we have in TN, (mostly hardwood: oak, hickory, ash, etc.), I'm thinking the peavy would be better to penetrate the bark and pulp, i.e., stab, catch and roll, rather than try to catch the lip of the cant hook and then roll. To the initiated, are there specific uses for a peavy and/or cant hook or are they designed to do the same tasks, just personal preference as to which one you choose?

Went to town and bought a couple of pins. Got home and they both were too big. Decided to mount the board with U-bolts. Got home and they were too small. This may turn into a bigger project than you think.:bang:
