Well I picked up a 8 month old very abused MS460 Mag, looks like the guy used the original chain till' it got dull and then just kept using it. So far I have taken it completely down for cleaning and then found what looks like dirt behind the clutch right above the oiler - see pict. Any I was wondering what caused this amount of debris to accumulate here? It was really packed in there.... I have completely cleaned it up now and when I let it idle for 60 seconds with no chain it did not feed any oil?? The clutch drum was spinning since the chain was not on there but no oil - I can't run it any more here as I have neighbors close by so a longer test will have to wait till morning but I thought I would see it oiling a little?? Anyway anybody see this before?

If you replace the oiler, put the high volume one in?

I found the exact same thing on a used ms460 I bought a while back. The oil pump was still working. I just figured it was the rubber gasket at the pump to case mating surface leaking a little and causing it to collect any duct or debris that made it in there.
I changed it out and everything is still clean.

From the Stihl dealer . . . .

These are 066 parts numbers but I think they work on the 460 oiler?
The only real difference is the piston and control bolt. You should also use two new O-rings.
I do not have a 460 IPL to verify the compatibility?

I hope that's all that is wrong with mine... my 8 year old 360 did not have hardly anything back there is the 8 month old 460 was packed full, I guess that's what happens when you use a dull chain for too long.
