Well finally got around to getn my splitter foot replaced on my 26 Ton Brave log splitter and thought I would share the results. It was already bent when I bought the splitter . I cant imagine what was being split when they bent it , I had the 1.75" plate replaced with 2.5" plate that I already had . I am very happy with the quality of the repair costing $65.00 !

That looks considerably better than the last foot we saw welded on this forum :). that looks like a fine welding job.

good looking repair all u need now is some sort of spikes on the foot to hold the wood in place:rockn:

Yeah, Im gonna weld somthn on there soon. That might be what happend the first time, nothing to hold the wood in place and maybe it slid up a little giving leverage to bend the plate

Now that's beef'n it up!!! might need to put some counter weight on the front lol. Just run some weld across the face of the plate that'll keep the wood in place.

Nice Repair

Looks good. I have a Brave 30 ton, got it back in 95'. Runs strong, just put a new Carb on it. What is funny, is the foot on mine is a little tweaked too. Guess I might get around to fixing it someday.

Yeah, that was quite a doozy, wasn't it?

I think I could have done better, and I haven't welded since 7th grade shop class!

Nice looking foot. If you manage to break it again, it will be the welds or the beam that goes! :dizzy:

I've gotta agree about the spikes, though. That smooth surface is going to cause you to say some baaaad words!

Yea, it doesnt take much to hold the wood in place. I just ran some beads and took a grinder to them on the the temp foot. I will make it a little neater on the new foot though LOL, even if is just a woodsplitter ,im picky

Nice.

Is that a horz/vert splitter?

Will it still go vertical?

Yes it is, it still goes vertical but I am going to make some new brackets where it pivots cause it raises the wheels off the ground a bit but being hooked to the atv witht the brake set, it stays in place
