Stihl 044 Cylinder Gasket

I like your choice there Scallwag but as much as I want to go for it , the cost of the genuine Sithl piston makes the saw not worthy to repair.

An early 10mm 044 will sell for around $700- to $1000- Aud....A quick look on ebay finds a Meteor piston & Caber rings for $91-
versus genuine Stihl for $125-. ....Wouldn't it be worth the extra $34- to rebuild your saw with genuine parts?

Meteor piston for 10mm is less than $40 bucks shipped in the US, the OEM is getting harder to find, but when i find good deals i buy more than one if you plan on having your saw a long time and rebuilding others. OEM is preferred but i do like to use Meteor for some builds where the saw is trashed anyway
