Terrible MS261 trigger

Guys I got a new MS261. The trigger is atrocious. It's heavy and there's almost a click near the end of the travel. The triggers on my 250 and 461 are super smooth and consistent. Is this something I can fix or should I take it back?

I’d take it back. I’ve had two newer (still own one) and the triggers are great. Something must be lined up poorly.

I had the same problem. Far as i could tell it was the white plastic piece on the carb that the throttle linkage slides on. I took mine back.

No, they didn't listen and instead put a softer trigger spring in which did not fix the problem. I told them they could keep the unit and got my money back. I have since ordered another unit along with a 462 from a different dealer which should be in next week.

Probably needs the throttle plate in the carb centered better.

Probably needs better QC at the factory. That's pretty sad, imo.

You'd think picking up the saw and operating the controls would be the most elementary part of the QC..?

Is this a made-in-China model?

I don't know how the guy missed it. It's ****. The very first trigger pull I felt it, I haven't' even started it yet.

The trigger is just a simple lever thing. Take off the top and watch the action, it just rotates and pushes the carb lever.

Then just move the carb lever without using the trigger, see if it is sticking. It should look something like this one {this is off of a ms271}
