What is a good, smaller saw?

Update. Purchased a MS260. Been using a Homelite 330 that belongs to a friend and I expected it to be about the same.

Wow.

What a difference. Burned a couple of tanks in it so far and I REALLY like this 260. And just as I hoped, I took a few trees down then limbed and bucked and I wasn't exhausted. I would have been dead on my feet after 1 or 2 with that C-5.

Now I need to learn how to sharpen chains. Loaned the C5 to my brother last week and evidently he used it as a trenching tool (and I just had the chain sharpened, to add insult to injury). He tried my 260 today and immediately buried it in the dirt. :censored:

Thanks to all for the advice. I looked at the 280 as well, but the light weight of the 260 won out.

you made a great choice! and remember, lend your wife, but not your stihl. The wife may come back better, but the saws never do.
