Finally swapped out the 090 carby for the OMC carby on my Pioneer 700D. Used a Joe Salva kit and it works great. Goofy carb, the metering gasket goes on top of the diaphragm instead of under it like every other carb I've ever worked on. Forgot that tidbit and wondered why it wouldn't pull any fuel and why the primer wouldn't work. And as it turns out, the original reason I ditched the OMC was not a problem with the diaphragms. One of the 2 idle ports in the throat was plugged and it would only dump fuel if the butterfly was too far open for the saw to idle properly. Only downside is the 090 carb venturi is much larger so I may lose some performance.

I may go after my other 700D based on today's success. Should I put my 090AV back together?

I've got my 064 back on the bench. I bought a NOS Mahle 066 cylinder for it. It's the old school cylinder without provisions for a decomp. It should be from the time when the 066 make great power. It's no wonder they run so well. Port timing is 96, 117, 80. I'm planning on doing a popup in it as well. It will have a new Meteor piston. Squish is .018" with an OEM gasket.

Had these 3 heavy hitters on the bench today! BOOM

I had to work today so just this evening I finally got around to rebuilding the carb on my new to me PP655. Gave it a once over other places as well and put a 8 tooth sprocket on it to replace the 7 that came with it.

I also got the rest of the parts to put my Echo CS-900EVL back together. Might get to do it tomorrow.

Up on the bench is a 009 that for the life of me I can't get myself to work on...I even tried to trick John(Oscar4883) to pitch in and help out with it and he was on to my Tom foolery. Saw it a mile up the road and ran like a Raped Date.

Also got a cherry ms360 with a fresh top end that's been "under" the bench for way too long. gonna love finally getting that one out to play. always good to have a "limbing" saw to play with !!!

Just for fun I made this muffler fit my 066 to see how it
would sound.
