Who besides me does not decide it is time to cut firewood ,till it is cold , muddy and rainy outside and the dry pile is gone ?
Same here. I'm fat and don't like sweating excessively, so I wait till about this time of the year to start...I wait until cool/cold weather, but stay 2-3 years ahead with the dry stuff.
+1. Nobody wants to buy a load of wood until its basically to late. Roads are slick and side roads are muddy. And if you do make it to their house it's to bad to get the truck to the front door to dump it and then the buyer gets huffy becuase they might have to carry a chunk of wood 10 extra steps.Don't know about cutting,
but, that sure sounds like a lot of the people that call me looking for a wood delivery between Thanksgiving and April Fools Day every year.

+1 with ears.My favorite temperature to cut and split is between 15-30 degrees. It's just comfortable for me. Sometimes a quilted flannel is too warm and most of the time a ball cap is preferred over a stocking cap.
To be honest that is what gets me in the mood. I cant cut wood when its close to 60 degrees. Once I start to sweat Im done.
