He never was a mod as far as I remember - you probably are thinking of Dennis - but he used to host GTGs (probably invented them) - with Sedanman as the chef.:)

He was the man back then, fell out with some members, never knew exactly
why, before he left, was in the middle of the "Beavergirl" thing, I never
follow the tangeant threads.........

He was a nice guy, to me, and anyone else that would disagree, is gone as well.

:agree2: There seems to me to be quite a few changes here. AS feels devoid of "substance" as someone said. I remember a while back concern from the top about making this site clean(er?) or some such and I suggested then that being too aggresive in such a stance could undermine the very thing that makes this site what it is; its members! Yes sure some need a kick up the jacksie Definition (I'm kinda waiting for mine about now...) but at what cost? If you lose your knowledge base, um well; TAFUBAR (you look it up:taped:)

A couple cool new smilies though :pumpkin2:

And just to stay on topic: :deadhorse: I think this was one of Lakeside53's favorite

I've been posting on internet forums since 1993 on the Prodigy BBS. In my experience, almost nobody who announces that they are leaving ever truly leaves for good. It is like most suicide threats, a plea for help and sympathy. If someone is really going to leave, they will do so quietly and just disappear one day. For someone to have 25,000 posts and quit suddenly would be nearly impossible. I agree that he will most likely be back under his original screen name.

You don't know Andy very well to say the first part of your post.

Andy always has a lot going on, and I think he just figured it wasn't the best use of his time anymore. He may post again, but it would most likely just be a howdy do.

This site is a show of it's former self. I am one of a handful that still logs on here. I went to many GTG'S in New York where Sedanman was the chef........real good at it too. A lot of my modded saws I sold off, I just lost interest.

He certainly wasn't banned! :laugh::laugh::laugh:

I don't think he ever was banned, not even for a day, which is pretty impressive considering he had 25000 posts when the stopped posting.

He just desided to stop posting here. :bang::bang::bang:

You're talking to the dip- #### muffler builder from ohio. You know the guy who's mufflers fall apart at the weld.
Or the complete jerk muffler builder if that helps..........if not
the biggest post reporting rat we ever had on AS
or the jerkwad muffler builder that was trying to sell gb bars at cost until gb won't even to sell to him anymore...
you know.........the typical vermin that sneak in here even though they say they wouldn't bother, banned jerks that we can't detect......you know what I'm sayin?

Well said. I've spent enough time around Andy to know for certain that, if he ever posts again, he wouldn't hide behind a false name. He's straight up.

He was a little burned out with the self proclaimed saw experts and ankle biters who would ask for his advice...and then argue with him about it. That kind of behavior would burn anybody out.

He shared his knowledge with us for a long time. He doesn't owe us anything. We, on the other hand, shouldn't lose sight of just how much we owe him.

Right now he needs a good leaving alone. He's more than earned it.

No, no, no...use an impact wrench on the flywheel nut to loosen the piston. You can't seize a piston twice, so now that it's broken in, you can stick with the straight gas. But now you need to replace the flywheel.

To get the broken flywheel off, just back out the flywheel nut until it clears the threads, and then whack it with a ball peen hammer.

Actually you just divert part of the bar oil to one of the transfer ports, and it will be like an autolube injector system............

Just for the record......

I never actually "bit" his ankle, I am too old and fat.......

But yes, I drove him off, as well as THall...........

:ices_rofl: Never happened. We know better. Now, there are a few others that have run screaming from the room because of you...but we won't go into that.

But the idea of you running Andy off, or Thall ? Naaaaahhhhhh.

Its in my sig,,,,, it's a joke,,,, been in there for quite a while,,, we used to banter back and forth on diagnosing saw problems,,,, Lookie its in post 64 too!!!!

I would give my thoughts on how to fix or determine a problem saw and he would bust my chops and make me laugh,,,,

He was usually right BTW,,,,

A really top notch saw tech,,, and I am proud to say he is my friend and I do miss him posting here,,,

I was just trying to stir the pot....Like it really needs stirring around here...I truely can't believe how much this place has changed even in the short time I have been here...Not sure if it is just the time of year or if people come and go all of the time?...The thing that I think is the funniest is how bent out of shape people get around here over stupid crap...I guess I can jsut let crap go easier than most...
