Wood Boss / Farm Boss

Were there any differences in these saws from Stihls' lineup at the time?
What was the difference between these and the rest of the lineup?
Just a marketing gimmick?

You got it... it's just a name. After years of not using it, they brought it back in 2015 for the MS251 Wood Boss & MS271 Farm Boss.

I will say this:
I am around a LOT of people that do not know as much about saws and saw models as me. (not that I know a lot) and I have heard sooooo many times....... that's a FARM BOSS, it's one a them good saws!

The farm workers and wood gatherers equivalent of the MAGNUM sticker on grown up saws.
Having BOSS on the saw helps you to be able to puff your chest out that wee bit further and hold your head up just that wee bit higher.

I notice my ms170 does lag in power but it’s a trimming and limbing saw. I think my little 2.0 mcculloch could kick its butt. Lol now the 041 farmboss is torquey, my 029 and 250c seem to run better. There going on the shelf anyhoo.

I think the only good wood boss labeled Stihl were the 024 and 028. I think the 041 carried a farm boss name briefly
