    Ok, you be the judge

It sounds like you respect your customer and his habits. Communicate with them and make it right as best as possible. It looks like a good oppurtinty to R&D with a customer. I am a return customer when dealers treat meet fair and honestly, even when I'm at fault. one can learn alot when one...

    What should I upgrade to?

good advice above! Maybe look for a slightly used big saw with a 36" or so bar and maybe a smaller new or slightly used medium (lighter, shorter, less vibration,) saw that fits the bill for a majority of your work. It seems there are a lot of 36"+ saws that dont see as much action these days...

the village idiot is out today and I'm the fill in it seems. I assume comp will be higher if i warm the saw then let it set for a minute before taking...

    288 compression ?

I checked the comp in my 288xp a little while ago and coldit mesured 125psi. In some other reading I saw 90psi as sign of sickness but did not notice a spec on a correct compression. Any thoughts or ideas as where to look.
