    Jonsered Rescue version for 2171 and 2165

    I would NEVER go on a roof to vent with out a depth limiter. The Stihl 460R is far superior as it has the depth limiter that also prevents blade exposure for the limited portion of the blade. This is why I HATE the vent masters and all the other saws. You might think you are "good enough" with a...

    Turbo 2-stroke

    We have to get away from a typical turbo. A turbo that works like an automotive turbo wouldn't work. Think more along the lines of a supercharger. its drive will be gear directly out of the crankshaft. Now place it between the carb and engine. Now what we have is a vacuum from the carb pulling...

    This case has the cops stumped

    We had a pursuit in the next town over. When I heard my buddy on the radio engaging a pursuit at 15mph he had the curiosity of the whole county. Some genius thought he could just jump in a grader and drive off and nobody would notice. Any who the guy was trying to steal the road grader and was...

    husky vs stihl -air filtering process

    Not trying to be the oddball, but no one has mentioned the Intelicarb, which can really save your donkey when you are in the middle of a cut. The idea of a carb that reacts to its environment, I like that idea, but it is no excuse to have a dirty filter!

    what are you paying for synthetic 2 stroke oil?

    Stihl Ultra on the shelf, the one gal mix is 1.96 for one, 11.00 for a six pack, and 86.00 for a 48 pack. The 2 gal mix is 2.92 for one, 16.00 for a six pack, and 128.00 for a 48 pack. :greenchainsaw:

    MS260 vs. MS310

    +1 on the 361. You are only looking at about 150 bucks difference between that and the 260. Btw you would be loosing more than 1 hp between the 310 and the 260, as Stihl uses brake horse power and not hp.

    Sea_Foam really decarbon 4 cycle engine?

    I have used a couple bottles of the marvel mystery oil in my Bronco with a 302. It stopped the smoking but that is about to be corrected via rebuild.

    Replacing Husky 340.. used husky 55 offered, should I take it?

    First off, welcome to Arborist Site! For 400 bucks you could get a MS280. Many on here like the Husky 350, which is a solid saw and is a great contender. I just happen to like the engine management system on the 280 for homeowners. You will never have to adjust the high needle on your carb as...

    ::: Power vs Torque :::

    You can keep trying to turn your stuck bolt...but if you don't have a horse pulling 33,000 foot-pounds per minute in the first place, you wont have very much of anything to measure your torque now will you.

    ::: Power vs Torque :::

    True that you cant have hp with out torque. In the application of a chainsaw torque is nothing more than the heat generated when your sprocket is turning at a fraction as your crankshaft. Do you honestly think torque is an issue at 13,000 rpm? Look at any dyno. It is below the chart at that...

    ::: Power vs Torque :::

    It doesn't matter how much torque you have when you are using a centrifugal clutch! By the time your clutch engages your precious torque is curving off the charts. That is where horsepower kicks in! If a chainsaw had a torque converter instead of the centrifugal deal, then you would have a...

    Stihl serial #

    Ouch, broke saw and a broke camera. Is there any stamped Stihl numbers on say the cylinder head? It should be a xxx-xxx-xxxx type number. That would be the biggest help.

    Stihl serial #

    Not showing a registered model. Computer says invalid serial number for 5825751. Is there any other distinguishing marks?

    Any commercial 4 stroke hedge trimmer with separate oil?

    That is the point I was just about to make. No phone number for the USA to even ask about buying, I would hate to see the headache that would cause if you got ahold of one and had a problem:buttkick: Not to get "off topic" but the 4mix is hard to beat. Mixing isnt that much of an issue, just...

    Brand New to the Forum

    Well the most important thing is that you have a good dealer, and from what it sounds a great relationship with them. Any saw has the potential to give you problems (some more than others) and having a solid dealer to back you up is imperative. Welcome to AS, if you have any questions the guys...

    Help with ID of old Poulan

    04/71 That is about right! I will have my camera tomorrow, I will post some pics of this rascal. I also have an old Craftsman in my shop right now (all cast painted the vintage "puke" green) I will take some snapshots of as well.
