Any ideas as to the shelf life of a new, never used Husqvarna crankshaft seal? What is the rubber compound used to make an oem seal? I have some seals with a date on the tag from 1993. They feel ok and springs not rusty.

Don't know why the box states Made in Japan when the tools ID tag has Made in Sweden. Picked it up yesterday, built in 2012 and BTW this is a new 30"hedge trimmer with a black fuel cap and X-torq. Won't take it apart now but wonder if it has a catalytic muffler?

1985 Husqvarna 181se is new to me :smile2:. Never had this model of saw before and can't try it out. The carb nipple is cracked and spewing fuel all over the little I had the saw running. I pulled the cracked nipple off easily but the steel barb is still in the carb. Hope there is a fix.............
