Cheated death today....just got lucky is the only reason I am still here.

The standard voltage for the telephone system is 48 volts DC. Ringing voltage is much higher, around 90 volts AC. Also these lines run for many miles. There could be a lightning strike elsewhere which could send very high voltage through lower voltage lines. It is basically a good idea to...

Falling video. How not to do it i guess.

Well I guess if a tree service were to have given them a quote of $1000 or whatever to safely take down the tree with a crew, lines, and a bucket truck, that WOULD have been the less expensive deal! I suppose their insurance company would take one look at the weather report for that day (no...

    Help getting into the industry

If you *really* want this, move to a small logging town in Oregon or Washington. Get a job anywhere you can to pay the bills. Then find local bars with several trucks which look like the following picture, but filthy dirty with mud on the sides. Those are loggers trucks. Hang out at those...

    Chainsaw Recommendation

Before buying a new saw, go buy a new "regular" chain and a "half skip" chain. Try those on the same wood and see if you can suddenly cut faster. If you can, then all you need to do is properly sharpen your chains and lower the rakers (depth gauges). Learn about that here... Stihl Chain...
