Possible Mid Michigan GTG This Summer

I'm interested. Saginaw about 1.5 hour for me. I'd be interested in truck pooling out of SE Michigan.

Ethanol-free gas in the U.S. and Canada

Yeah, Christie ate all the corn then went after your guns. With that said, I have heard 93 octane is ethanol free. Is this true?

    550xp and 562 xp

I've had my 562XP since January 2012 and have put about 35 tanks through it with no issues. Saw just keeps getting stronger and is my go to saw or favorite to run regularly.

    McCulloch Chain Saws

Mac 10-10A RHP Fuel in Air Box Hi All, I have been frequenting the site for some time and enjoy learning about the old models and how to make repairs. I am no mechanic but can turn a wrench and enjoy doing things myself. Recently I picked up a really nice condition Mac 10-10A RHP to...

    new updated 562xp

I just don't get it. I have a late 2011 model, just after the recall, and have had absolutely no issues. Granted I do not run my saw every day for a living, but after about 25 tanks one would think that if there were problems, they would have shown. I even asked my dealer if he has seen or...

HELP - Makita DCS520 Pulled Chain Tensioner Out of Case

Guys, I could not be more grateful for your help. Here I was fearing the worst, like I lost my best friend, and you're telling me the valley the tensioner screw sits in is normal. It turns out I just didn't know any better. I love this model saw so much I have been searching the net for a...

HELP - Makita DCS520 Pulled Chain Tensioner Out of Case

I had a bad day in the woods today. Pinched two different saws, had to remove bars from saws and it now appears I may have damaged my Makita. While reefing on the saw to free the bar pinched in the back cut, I pulled the chain tensioner from the magnesium case. I am not sure if it can be...

My three new 50cc class saws

So you''re the one who bought the DCS 540. If it is the one off the bay, earlier this week that one was in excellent condition. Seller works for Stihl and had good things to say.

If You Had to Choose Between These Two Makita Saws...

The DCS 540 surprises me some that the power is on par with the 520 but the displacement is larger. I suppose I should pocket the difference and get some bar and chain combos. The 5200i being new in the box is intriguing though. I would probably make it a shelf queen.

If You Had to Choose Between These Two Makita Saws...

I have an opportunity to buy either a used Makita DCS 540 for around $200 or a new Canadian DCS 5200i for $500 plus $50 s&h. For starters, I do not need either saw but have been looking to add a DCS 520 line saw to the stable for some time. This line may not be the most powerful but sure are...

    My non-expert Dolmar/Makita observations

Same Here - DCS 520 I have experienced the same thing with my DCS 520. It ALWAYS leaks the bar oil out when not used and has done it since new. I also had a second DCS 520 a few years ago and it would drain out too. I will have to try the pressure in the tank thing and loosen the cap...

    One Saw Only....!!!

To the OP, if you are going to be doing hinge cutting for habitat improvement, do not get anything bigger than 50cc or it will end up in your lap after awhile. Keep the saw light. For bar length, I personally use a 20" on my 50cc Makita DCS520 as it gives me better reach for habitat work and...

    Auto-tunes in the shop

Same as Sunfish, I have a 2011 model and no issues to speak of. Early on it took a few pulls to start but is now a one pull starter, even when warm.

Picking up my 562xp today - bar suggestions

I agree with the others, 20" is perfect on this saw and will provide the most all-around use. The techlite bar is also a great upgrade but any 20" bar will balance just fine due to the design of the 562.

    Holy 562xp!!!!

It just figures, after months of watching the Bailey's site for the Techlite bar and posting that I was unable to locate one, they now have them in stock.

    Holy 562xp!!!!

That Techlite bar looks great on the 562XP. I am currently running the regular Husqvarna 20", 3/8,.50 gauge on my 562 and have been wanting to upgrade to the 20" Techlite but cannot find them anywhere. Bailey's lists them but they are always on back order. If anyone has leads on a 20"...

    555 VS 562xp

Agreed. I have been running my 562 XP since January and have not had any problems. The only thing I did notice however is the saw has gotten stronger the more I run it. I also do not have warm start issues that others have spoken of. MY 562 XP starts as quick as any saw in my stable, which...

    Holy 562xp!!!!

Congratulations! Your reaction was exactly the same as mine the first time I ran mine and I still grin every time. The 562XP is a leap in technology and is a very strong runner. My favorite part about the 562XP is the lack of vibration, it is the smoothest saw I've ever run.
