Those are my kid's perfect Humbolts.....but I taught him how to cut'em.
He's actually been in the woods quite along time.

Man. that looks like some tough working conditions, but the wood looks perfectly fine under that charcoal!Gypo's never cut burned timber!......but when you live and work in California you will have to work in the burnt timber. This burn happened last summer between Westwood and Susanville Ca. Appox. 60,000 acres. About 80% goverment timber and the other 20% private. All the private will get logged and replanted and a very small amount of the goverment ground will get touched. Here's picture of my son Aaron cutting a burnt douglas fir. All the trees 22" and bigger are hand felled and the small is processed by machine. Only 1 or 2 logs are bucked from the tree and again the rest is processed. Dirty work and hard on the saws. Chains don't last long, but his Cannon bars hold up well. All his saws are set up with Maxflow filters changed everyday.

Anyone using carbide chain for that work? Cuts slower, but keeps it's edge better, if you can call it an edge.

Great pics, man. Kinda a peaceful easy feeling looking at those. Cutting wood that would otherwise rot. And nice looking wood at that.

did you notice Dennis has been banned for life? I'm guessing with him and Gypo gone we'll see alot less pictures.

Well, we can probably all live without naked pictures of Gypo but it's a darn shame that all the good stuff he and Dennis contributed don't seem to count for anything.
Gypo and Dennis, with their knowledge, their commentary, and especially their great photography, were a valuable part of this forum.
A lot of people learned things from them that they wouldn't otherwise have known about.
Anybody know what Dennis got sacked for this time? I haven't seen anything in his recent posts that anybody with any spark in him would call offensive.

I guess the insulting comment has been deleted. There isn't anything that I can find that could be taken as insulting now. The mods look out for all of us even when we don't know about it.
