The loss of a "spine"

You're durned right. I gave you a chance to amend your post, and you did not take it. I publicly let you know what I was going to do, and then I carried that out. I don't care enough to drive to Canada to address this, and I have no other recourse against you. So, I pursued an action to redress the improper behavior here. What part of this is spineless?

Its spineless because your a whiny little baby, if you had any backbone at all, you'd be able to take some abuse.

That's what I meant I was saying in first person. :)

Right!

Taking unjustified abuse is not the sign of having a spine. In fact, the opposite is true. Your posts were unwarranted, ill spirited, and improper. I will not tolerate such things.

I take as much abuse as anyone on this forum, but you know where the line is and you crossed it.

And I was stating what you are. If it makes you feel better, I will respond.

I am not a troll. I've been on this site since '03. I joined because I like chainsaws and because I was in the market for one. I like the guys here. I occasionally post chainsaw related info, but I am not an expert in most areas, and most questions are covered before I answer. Therefore, I don't post a lot of answers. I do read the discussions and learn from the experts just like everyone else.

I like a lot of the people on here. I post and read as a break from doing homework. It takes my mind off of more serious matters.

I am animated in discussions and I speak my mind, and many take that as trolling. That's not my problem.

And now, you've successfully derailed this thread and dragged this into a personal discussion that no one should care about. Satisfied?

Now I may be newer than most here, but when I read post 17 I immediately knew exactly who you were implicating with that statement. I saw that you meant it as a personal attack, even though you were very coy with your wording. I have no problems with you, nor do I want any, but in all honesty you instigated the onslaught of negative posts that were directed at you. I don't blame you for not tolerating the derogatory comments; they were after all quite juvenile and unnecessary.

As far as your chosen profession and your goal of working towards your doctorate of law, I think it is admirable of you to have an objective; you are obviously intelligent and motivated enough to achieve it.

But here is what I don't get. Why hone your argumentative skills on a forum about chainsaws? When you say that posting on AS is an alternative to homework, I don't believe you, I think that posting on here is your own personal homework as you are often required to think on your toes and counter the arguments of others. Good practice for your future, but why bother?

Thanks.

Yes, I'm in law school, but I was on this forum before I was ever in law school. Law students are normal people too you know. :)

Who says where the line is? You? I could really care less, call me what you want, won't bother me none.

Why don't you actually contribute anything this "Chainsaw Forum" many have pointed out that you don't. All you do is stir up trouble, then you get your panties in a knot when people start slinging SH!T at you. Anyway, I've about had enough of this bull, till next time.

It's ok fellas, nobodies gonna get a fine for modding a saw, anymore than falling a tree without being certified, although, they may make a few examples out someone. No one ever promised life was going to be fair, ethical or moral. It's all pie in the sky. The haves and the havenots. Sounds like Toronto v.s Montreal. lol

I don't have to draw that line.

Spacemule, since you quoted the rules I would like to say it is my opinion, based on an a fairly short time here, that you have on many occasions violated rule 12. Others can no doubt give more background, but I'm calling it like I see it.

Mr. HE:cool:

Come on Space. You used to be funny and I've laughed my head off at some of your older posts.
Now every reply on this forum from you seems as if you're practicing law or using "us" as part of some Law College project. Your whole attitude has changed from a semi comedian to someone who wouldn't laugh with a guts full of Nitrous Oxide and half a bottle of Jack Daniels.
I bet from this thread alone you're printing out the pages as we speak and taking them to your lecturer to prove how "harrassment" exists in every part of society, even chainsaw forums. You may even score a D if you're lucky ;)
Remember, some people "choose" to play the victim, complete with handbag and mascara, and others just toughen up, get over it, and move on. Guess which one ends up happier in life, and guess which one yells at the neighbours kids when they're old and miserable and calls the cops every time their football comes over the fence?

HeHeHe, the officious types will always go scurrying off to the rule-books, it's called sheltered-life syndrome..

We're lucky here in the US of A. In most European countries, there are laws limiting the max temp. output of hot water heating systems...and they have the authority to enter homes to check it too.

If it will ever come to the point that authorities will have the right to enter my property or home to check the temperature of the hot water, I'll move to africa. And that accounts also for someone to check on my firewood saw, my lawnmower, etc to check its emission level.

The rule you stated is a recommendation for hotels, etc. just to avoid people getting burned by too hot water. It's not a bad rule though as I experienced myself the pleasure of boiling hot water while taking a shower in hotel in the UK. I almost smacked the hotel manager.

It also worries me a bit that americans, while being very proud of their nation, free enterprise and personal freedom, is scared of laws being pushed for EPA inspectors to be allowed to check on your personal firewood equipment. If that were ever to happen, I reckon many EPA inspectors would be shot on the scene.
