Is $750 Too Much For A 346XP?

Man, I wish my tools for work were that cheap. I got probably 10 times that invested in my tools so I can work.

BTW. Harry Barker is a **********.

Sometimes, even if a guy ain't got anything original to say (that'd be me), he's gotta log on to AS, slap his weenie into the ring and and watch it wiggle while he belly laughs. Too many PC pantywaist forums in the world! Love it that AS just lets it all hang out there.

The OP and haters seriously need to get laid. The market bears what it bears, and rejects what it does not bear.

You trolling for dates again?

I have to agree that it can't be too steep if someone's willing to pay for it.

Personally, I was more shocked by the $600 076. Can't win if you don't play I guess.

Guess that answers my question.

True, but that's a whole business. I was talking just my hand tools. There is allot of $$$ in the whole auto shop.

its crazy to think that i need over 100 grand worth of stuff just to cut down a little ol tree and take it to market,my elders did it with ax and mules. and i feel like i have it rough lol

My old model 346 was done by Big Dave Neiger and runs like a raped ape. I would gladly let it go for less than that amount if compelled to do so. IMHO, that is to high of a price. Strictly, an opinion although, things have changed since doing mine over the years. $550 is more like a realistic price. Similar to custom guns, one persons treasure may not be the same unless it meets the perfect buyer with the exact same wants.

I guess I fell for your pun also, cause that is the same way I thought you meant it. I am not sure why it is, but you seem to have a bone to pick with Brad constantly, so I figured this was yet another one of your daggers you like to stab in his back. In that regard it's punny from both sides.;)

Do you care to back that up? Would you mind showing me where I've broken daggers off at constantly? Brad and I have had a couple differences on the forum but I can't remember the last time we've had any words about anything, most of the time I don't even post anything. I don't have anymore of a problem with Brad than you have with me. So pun away:laugh:

I think I paid $439 or so for my last 346xp and $699 for my last 372xpw so $750 does seem a bit steep. Now if the saw had been owned by Elvis…..

If anybody 'really' doesn't understand why the saw is priced like that, they have not been paying attention. I don't play in that ballpark, but lot's of folks do. Fine by me, it's a healthy market. Curious what a value added 261 might go for.

New saw w/16" B&C - $465
Mods - $250
Unlimited coil - $40
TOTAL - $755

If it's not worth $250 for you to own/run a ported saw, then simply run a stock one. No one's holding a gun to your head to make you buy one. $250 is the going rate for these types of mods.

well, to be honest, that or port it yourself - and in my case sans the useless to me coil upgrade. It's not everyone's desire or ability to do so, but it's not brain surgery either.

It's like anything else in life, you get what you pay for. If I were wanting a ported 346 xp, I'd rather have one done by a guy who obviously has alot of expierence in porting saws and with that particular model. Also I would have the confidence that if the saw failed due to some issue related to the porting or assembly Brad would back his work 100%. Based on the stock price of the saw, the unlimited coil, muffler and port work it's definetly a good place to start an asking price. It's kind of like heart surgery, I'd rather have a guy that performs a **** load of them work on me than a guy who's just starting out. Don't think it is outrageous when several people have obviously paid the price before, it's a free market, get all the market will bear.
