Hi... I am looking for parts for a Pioneer NU-17.

To be specific, I require a flywheel nut (thanks for making that left handed, Pioneer...) a flywheel washer, and most importantly of all, a Pioneer 600 series coil. The infamous coil breaking problem showed up on my NU-17 as well as just about every other one out there.

Up for trade is a crap ton of boat stones... a parts Poulan Woodshark (all it needs is the rear handle... it's got crazy compression, must've been dropped from a tree while it was pretty new) and possibly some green papery stuff...

The boat stones are about 10 bucks a pop new, and that's for crappy Chinese manufactured ones... the ones I have are basically NOS, most likely USA made... been sitting in a box for years and years, never been used to match die seams or round off sharp edges on dies like they were intended to. I do not know the brand or grit. It feels like 100 or so grit to me, though. Fairly coarse... could be used to make a rough shape edge on an axe before giving it a going over with much smoother stones or sandpaper, etc. Many other uses... and if you make your own dies, you're in luck... :D

Here's a pic of one of the two boxes of these that I'm am tripping over and moving all the time...

Hey ProMac. Do you have a pic of the NU-17 coil? It wasn't that long ago I gave away an NU-17 parts saw. I may have something kicking around.

PM sent. Had a couple of other responses on the housing as well. Who woulda thought there were so many 1127 parts just layin' around out there?:D

Thanks, guys.

It's only Stihl's #1 saw sold. Many of these are laying around because people don't like fixing them. Many times a fuel line cracks and seizes these saws.

:bang:

still not sure WHY :dizzy: a 044/440 weighs about as much.....

but, yes, there are a bazillion out there....

When you find them on Craigslist its always for $20 less than the price of a new one:rolleyes:

Homeowners everywhere are convinced that the MS290 is the best chainsaw ever!
