You almost have the same plan as I do, only mine inclused a polesaw. They are the handiest thing ever when working up the top of a tree. You can almost stand in one spot and do the whole thing

i always go for the smallest saw i have if it will do the job,, my 372 hardly sees any run time

I picked 70CC because thats what i have used the most. it all depends on the firewood operation. lately i have been blocking 12-24'' wood being help up with an excavator hard to beat 90 CC for that its fast and fun.

Usually the 435 till I need to cut up bigger stuff. Then it the 10-10 or 6-10 depending on the size.

My MS440 has been my main FW saw since I bought it new 9 years ago. I also use a Poulan 2000 for limbing, some times it gets used more than the 440. I am really thinking hard on a 50cc saw as it would do 95% of the wood I get into.

50 and 75. The bigger one for felling and cutting up big stuff, smaller one for everything else. Wouldn't want to haul around the 460 with a 25" for limbing such, and there are things that are pointless to even consider cutting with a 16" bar.

i find myself picking up the 2172 more and more often, but also side with the guys that say they bring 2 saws run the first til empty then grab the other. but the 70cc gets picked up first.

Used to be a 42cc Poulan, now it's a 40cc strato engined GZ4000 clone. So I couldn't vote.

I tend to pick up my ms261 (50cc) until I run into larger logs that are better cut by a bigger saw. I would say 75% of my cutting is done with the 261

My trusty Husky 55 with an 18" b&c is my go-to firewood saw, with the MS440 as a backup for the larger stuff (24" & 32" b&c)

50cc ms260Pro is my go-to saw and handles everything from limbing up to 20" dia. felling/bucking. Good on fuel and chain sharpening w/16" bar is relatively quick. Most of what I cut is 20" dia. or less. For the times I really could use a bigger saw, there's the ms440.

I use a cs400 for limbing and brush, 14" bar. Tried a 12" bar on it but kept breaking chains? Really needs a mm and tuned. It's kind of a mutt,,I know a mm and tune will wake it up.

"Uncle Ache:, the 2171 is the outfit that really makes lil' ones outta big 'uns.

Been considering a 50-ish cc saw, trying to sort out any weight savings over Uncle Ache. There are times I don't need the 2171, occasionally,,I mean sometimes,,a 50-ish cc saw would be a work saver,,so I could do more work,,I mean,,another saw on the shelf wouldn't hurt any thing, really! I aint got no stinkin' CAD or nuthin',,It's just that I would like to save a couple pounds when I'm workin' up fire wood. It'd save on fuel usage too. Honestly, look at like this,,the saw would use less fuel and I wouldn't burn so many calories 'cause I wouldn't be working as hard so it's gonna' save on the grocery bill too 'cause I wouldn't need to eat so much...RIGHT? Huh, fellas, am I right?

If I'm filling my pickup in the woods , Go to the 346 or 510sp first , then 272 for bigger stuff . I do not care to handle the big wood very much .
When I'm bucking from a tri-axel load , definately the 272 .

I grab both the 460 w/20" bar and my 361 w/16" bar. Drop w/ the 460 and limb w/ 361 than buck w/ 460, life is good.:msp_thumbup:

My poor 260_pro just doesn't get used.:msp_unsure:
And I'll let it go soon, Because I just p/u a 660. That's a frigging rush.
