went to go throw together my OE 346 this afternoon. all went well. case is together with new bearings and all ;) ran into 2 problems though. parts needed are

cylinder bolts
clutch drum
base cover undernieth carb

I ordered cylinder bolts from chainsawr but they turned out to be the wrong ones :( they sent fine thread bolts which are for the new edition. I need the coarse thread ones part number 503 21 74-25. stressed to them about how they must be the coarse thread ones but ya know. circle of life ;) saw was a limb damage victim so clutch drum and base cover both got damaged. I've replaced most of the damaged parts but just noticed these 2 things. i'm hoping somebody can help me out because my dealer here wants almost $5 a bolt and $40 for the clutch drum :msp_thumbdn: base cover under carb isn't a huge must. it would be nice to get one but this one will work.

I have things to trade. all husky stuff. if you think ahh he won't have what I need don't hesitate. you never know. I got old stuff as well. please PM

Craftsman and Husky parts needed

Looking for a black, top cover for a Craftsman (Poulan) 3.4 or 3.7, and a muffler w/bolts for a 350 Husky....

Have some 350 parts and some Mac 110 parts, as well as a Homelite Model 17 carcass, to trade.

It is for an 026.

The tension spring is the big one that is the main component of the chain brake actuation mechanism to engage the brake band around the clutch drum (which is also sort of a spring of sorts) and there are also two other "torsion spring" possibilities depending on vintage.

Now about that gasket...:hmm3grin2orange:

Oh, that one! (The one that holds the little lever for the brake band.)

Yep. Used on most of the chain brake assemblies and should be an easy find. Hell, I may actually even have one in a box somewhere, or your local Stihl dealer probably has a drawer full of em. Postage would probably be more than you'd pay for it locally.

Dealer is 30 mins away and the tranny is out of my truck.

Here are the coil bolts used on newer 346's (left) compared with some cylinder bolts from a 1999 346 (right). They are the same length, pitch, and diameter, but the cylinder bolts have a shoulder at the cap. I played with both in a cylinder base and couldn't feel any difference in the fit. I have a few spare coil bolts, but I do not have any spare coarse thread cylinder bolts. If you want to try them, let me know and I will drop you some in the mail.

I can help you with the carb floor plate and bolts, as well as a clutch drum.

Let me know if you are interested.
