A few years sounds just ideal to me. Just long enough to almost master it but not enough to get burnt out. Randy, may I ask, do you have a full time job?

That's what I figured. Just checking. Didn't think you'd be able to set so many members here up with incredible saws while working an 8-5. I'm self emplyee too. Has it's ups and it's downs.

Wish my new 026 could get a session with you. Fin460 (Justin is my buddy) loves his and says he won't run anything else.

It really isn't pretty enough to deserve a Mastermind job, but it works great so far and I think I'm emotionally attached because of all we've been through together.

Sure! I'm fixing to put rings in one myself lol! Why? I have no idea.

Aww, that would be great . Let me get my ducks in a row quickly and I'll make sure this this 026 is still firing by morning.

Not to bad to find the parts. eBay is where I find most of them.im doing it for a friend then on to my homelite 450.
Yeah I guess the one good thing they got going for them is that they produced a ton of em back in the day , even though they are pretty old finding parts locally and through ebay should be feasible: are they hard to work on?

Hard to work on? I don't think so. This saw belong to his dad and he just wonts to see it run again. After I start it for him when done I'm sure it will never be started again.

What do you think guys? With some new plastics, would my 026 be Mastermind worthy? Or should I try and sell a few saws, save up and buy a newer one to send him?

The 026 turns up really well........but the air filter becomes a choke point on them. I can get really good gains from them.........but the 261 is a better choice IMHO.
