Poll: What is the saw to have in the 70-80cc range?

044 hands down. I love my ported 046, it is a beast, but U don't want to limb with it. An 044 will do it all, good at bucking and still light enough to limb with.

I think they are one of the best power to wt (& bulk) saws out there.

My 2 saw plan would be the 362 & 046, but my one saw plan would be an 044.

The filtration for the stihls listed blows

I couldnt pick one..i like the powerband of the 461 for sure...and speed/smoothness/balance/filtration of the 372

7900 is a mean dude..i dont have a favorite.

Don't see any Husqy 576 XP-AT-XT there. Just barely started to get to know mine, but fersher I'm gonna love it. Smooth as silk, even slightly smoother than my Dolly 6100. Super-docile for mid-winter starting. Serious power output. Any cures for the silver paint?

Eagerly awaiting coming of springtime.

MS441. Not on your list...

More power than a 372 or a 440, a lot smoother than a 440 or 460. Cold blooded after starting and bulky though.

Also the 576xp is not on your list. The original replacement for the 372xp, best Husky saw I every owned or ran (even the 372xpw). Sold it with my other Husky saws with my Bandit chipper several years ago.

You are also missing the 372xpw pre-smog saw with the bigger engine. Best of that series of saws IMO. But I am a Stihl guy.

I've ran a 046 and it just wasn't for me. I dunno. Ran a 7900 for awhile too and I liked it. Haven't got my hands on one of my own yet though.

The 372 stands out in my mind for some reason though, it really impressed me.

I love my 372xp.....but i bought a new to me 7900 with 2 tanks through it a few weeks ago and its been my go to saw when i need a 24" bar

385xp. I know it's 4.6cc over 80, but it's no bigger than a 461. Stock it feels like a 372 with torque. Ported it feels like nothing else

I won't tell which I'd pick overall cause I haven't run all of them, but it seems to me that they're ALL good saws in their own right.
But... the 372XPW 75cc has gotta be the sexiest saw ever made...

run this poll for a few days then take the top 3-5 saws from it and have a runoff. too many choices right now to only pick one.

7900 is my choice. but i am becoming one of those brand biased fools.
second choice would be a 461 though

372 XPW (pre-EPA 75cc model), smooth, good balance, good filtration, and power to weight like no other.

I haven't had much time with the 7900 yet it but surprised me at how well it handled plus it's sooo smooth.

I cannot believe I am the only one who picked the ms460. It is one of my favorite saws. And I do have most of those listed. No love for the big guy.
