Which guy to have port work? I know it’s the millionth time.

So I talked to mastermind he only does new saws so he’s out for me. Been talking to Terry he seems pretty good, but was wondering if any of you guys recommend anyone else. The saw is a 562xp I’ve had for a little over a year.

After hearing more than one unsolicited story, I can't recommend WWS. If it were mine I would want, in no particular order, Scott Kunz(crabby cooter), Kevin Lavanway(huskihl), Carl Miller(millermodsaws), or Eric Copsey(ecsaws) in my saw. If it were an 026 or 036, undoubtedly, I would wait and send it to Dr Al(drf255).

There are lots of guys that can do the work though, but I'd start there. They could probably also recommend someone.

Thanks for the info. I love my 562 but I’m trying to debate if I should mod it or get a 70cc husky. I just sold my 461, and the 562 does most my work so 3-400 on making it better or 7-1200 on a 70 that I dont think I really need.

Without knowing what you're doing with it I can't really give an opinion. If I could settle on a "primary" saw I would probably have it done. I've had a few ported saws around, now I have none. I realized that if I wanted a saw to run a bigger bar, I could just build a bigger powerhead. My situation and needs are different than yours though.

I cut for firewood, mainly wanting it to handle a 24 real well if I need it. It’s mainly outfitted with a 20. I know it’ll run a 24 stock but I’m looking for it to run similar to a stock 70cc with a 24”.

Eric does mostly race saws anymore so you won’t have much luck with him this year anymore. Awol has a spicy 562 recipe and Kevin builds good stuff too. Rattler is another one too
