But if you think about it, especially on the power issue, it's not really possible. Same P&C, turning the same crank, breathing through the same carb and muffler, must have the same power output. You simply can't draw any other conclusion.

Do these testing companies test several saws of the same model, or just one of each? I suspect that some of the discrepancies is these tests are similar to when car magazines test different examples of the same model car and come up with different 0 to 60 times and such.

I don't know, and I don't actually care too much either.

Like you, I have a hard time believing the differense is real - just teasing the Jred guy....:ices_rofl:

Yep, looks as if everyone has voted. I'll leave the Stihl's out on the next poll so you boys will have a chance:( :(

I think that if you would have asked: Which saw do you own now, a Stihl, Husky or Johnny, you would have got exactly the same result. Or you can see it as a success for the 372/2171 that it gets 50% of the votes on a Stihl dominated market. Some Stihl fans must have swallowed their brand loyalty.
In Sweden, not many people knows that there is a saw called MS440, but everyone knows the 372. Depending on who you ask you get different results. That a saw that is by far inferior to the others gets 50% either shows that the people here are very conservative or that many here sell Stihl saws for a living... Would be interesting to see a poll between the 440 and 441. I think the 20? year old 044/440 would beat the new 441.

What percentage of the total chainsaw market does sweden account for vs the US? Would it also be interesting to see a poll with the 575 vs the 372? I bet the 372 and the 440 would probably both win, which isn't a big suprise since they have been around a lot longer.

Awwwwwwwww now Pete don't take the poll serious, its just a poll for crying out loud. I mean just cause your brand got its balls kicked out its muffler is no reason to get all tissy and look for excuses, hehe

Now all teasing aside Pete heres why the Stihl is so hard to beat in any poll regardless of the model. First off they are the best known brand in the entire world, thats a fact. They've been making saws over 30 years longer than your brand, a simple fact. They rule the biggest market in the world, the USA, thats a fact. They also rule the home market of Germany, thats a fact. Your brand rules Norway and Sweden, Norway having a population of around 5 million. Sweden having a population of around 11 million. The USA has a population of over 300 million and Germany has over 82 million. Now look at those numbers and its quite easy to see why Stihl is hard to beat in any poll, theres just so many of them out there. The clincher is Stihl made it well known for many years the 440 was one of the best selling pro saws in the world, I guess they weren't kidding. Its a legend whether you like or not. The 372 is a Husky legend as well, just not as well known as Stihl around the world...

Look at it this way. When they discontinue the 2171, we won't have to rush to every dealer around to find a few, like with the 440. They will be everywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No they will disappear for a month and then they will bring them back 9 times like the 372 just to get sales up.......Looks like there plan worked on the Husky ...Jred will be next...;) ;)

.I still like the Jred color better then Husky

Hornet if ya think this one is bad the next one is "Which is the better climbing saw, the 020T/200T or the 335/338. Betcha the 020/200 takes it by 5 to 1. Then the next will be the 660 vs 395, another win for Stihl of course and then the 880 vs the 3120, another win for Stihl of course. Then the 460 vs the 385, another win for Stihl of course. Then the 441 vs the 575, another win for Stihl of course. Daymm Hornet the 372 "was" your best shot man, :hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

You know Tom, I thought that the 50cc was the only hope for husky. By looking at the votes it's between the 260 and 5100, LOL.

I agree to the most you are saying, maybe except the "got the balls kicked out its muffler ..." when the poll is 51/49 %. and that on Stihls best market. Anyway. it still would be interesting to see a poll over the 440 and 441. I strongly believe that people vote on the saw they have, not the saw they would buy today.

Well the kick out was just teasing, nothing more. Surely you don't take these polls serious Peter, they are mostly all in fun.
